It’s a highly regarded movie. You say that like it’s Battlefield Earth.

he's just saying that the movie doesnt blatantly demonize conservatives

There’s a scene with the younger kids and one of them flips off a poster of Ronald Reagan

Furious gentrification speech was mentioned he also says the SAT is culturally biased, though he adds except for the math which flies in the face of more recent progressives calling even math racist.

Boyz in the Hood is a great movie. There’s always been “messages” in movies and most of it left wing. The difference in the woke era is it was mostly poorly written and shoehorned into everything as “inclusion”.

I think it does a great job of not being preachy and also hitting both conservative and liberal talking points about why “the hood” is the way that it is. Even within the characters they are not monolithic in their views.

I agree. It's a fair and balanced look at why the hood is the way it is.

If it were made today "white man bad" would have been the overwhelming message at every single turn.

Sounds pretty realistic. I went to a majority black school. The day after Reagan got elected, the mood in homeroom was definitely somber, like someone had died.

Rickey's mom is the reason why he's dead. It was her fault. She treated Dough like shite from the time he was a kid. Always treated Rickey like he walked on water. All because she disliked Dough's pops.
