When I hear myself talk in a south park voice, I immediately feel like I’m still in the 1990s.

The argument was against Jesus (religion) in school. Where in this episode did they actually make fun of Christianity?

I don’t even think it was that broad. It was a stab at the “Christians” in the current GOP only embracing it to appeal to voters. The idea that proud womanizer Donald Trump is some virtuous Christian is laughable, but go read the Poli board and you would think he would be canonized while still alive. The whole scene of the White House party summed up the performative Christianity trend that is happening.

The more I read this thread and watch the reactions (been busy) ... the more I love this episode.

It's very funny to witness as an outsider.

Paramount mightve got their money's worth from the social engagement alonem

I aiint gonna lie the last couple seasons and the specials weren't as relevant as past seasons.

Feel like that episode put it back on the map.

I agree. Although I don’t think that episode was as edgy as they think. If this is their plan for the entire season, the ratings will begin to plummet.

Yeah. Episode 2 better be something not trump focused and needs to be a good independent storyline

I don't care what the storyline is as long as it's funny.

People who demand certain storylines or jokes from these writers remind me of those who badger a DJ with personal request during their set.

Are “Super Best Friends“ (season 5, episode 3) and “200” & “201” ( season 14, episodes 5 & 6) available anywhere to stream or buy out right?

I don't think anywhere is streaming them. They definitely aren't on Max. The only way I know of is to buy the s14 Blu Ray. It has "200" and "201" on it for sure. It's available on Amazon. It's just the one that says "Complete 14th Season". The one that has seasons 11-15 doesn't have them I don't think. I could be wrong about that, but the Season 14 BluRay definitely has them.

One thing that is often missed in the point/counterpoint that comedians go harder against Trump is the reaction it causes. Trump doesn't just melt, he sublimates directly to gas. Within 12 hours he has Taylor Rogers saying "This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention." and calling it 4th rate.

If $1.5 billion is hanging by a thread I would hate to see what a TV show is worth if it was hanging by something like a rope or steel cable.

Yep. Was such a stupid move for the WH to comment at all, but even then, it was such a gaslighting comment.

Exactly. I would be willing to bet that that episode doubled its views because Trump supporters heard about it and went to watch it so they could be outraged.

This board can't handle anytime you criticize a south park episode.

You had everyone on here defending the serialized season when it was running, and that was one of the most unfunniest seasons they've ever produced. Trey and Matt are brilliant, but their best days are behind them.

Downvote away

that’s fine. You don’t have to agree. Just like you don’t have to agree the earth is round you’d just be wrong.

I don't agree that they've 'gone after' islam. Merely depicting Muhammed isn't going after anything, and they caved by censoring it even when they did that. Anyway, my point was that even those episodes are banned from their own site now.

What are you talking about? South Park Studios? These episodes aren't banned from that site. You can't watch them there right now, but that goes along with a lot of other episodes, since they only make a limited number of them available to watch.

Did you not enjoy the specials?

Not every episode is gonna be a classic but they at least are consistently funny

I’m a conservative and thought that episode was pretty funny. Definitely out there and reminded me of old South Park. Only thing I’m a little annoyed about is the lack of Biden comedy, but maybe they’ll go after him this season too. The NPR stuff was great and so true
