It's as bad as we thought it would be

I figured.

The first one caught lightening in a bottle because it was an adaptation of a comic book that was ahead of its time in a gothic kinda way. The death of Brandon Lee brought curiosity to it and It was a simple but stylistic movie in the meat of the grunge era with a magical soundtrack.

It never needed to be redone

right!

Turning Eric into some weak arse convict and Shelly into a crack whore seems to be and excellent artistic choice. After watching this review I have learned that the only thing this movie took from the original source materiel were their names. Other than that they just wiped their asses with O'Barr's comic book after first using it to snort up lines

How bad did it have to be in order to take the spot over Borderlands?

I'm not doubting that the movie is bad. I have no desire to see it.

But does this guy actually enjoy any movies? The only time I ever see him he's always dunking on how terrible a movie is.

Why did they even remake this? The original was just meh. Brandon Lee was really good in it, and it had a great sound track, but it was just a run of the mill action movie that probably would have done better at blockbuster than the theater. If Brandon Lee hadn't died during filming it would have been forgotten about.

He’s make reviews about good movies and movies he likes all the time. It’s just most of them are older because new movies are shite mostly. He’s also running a business. Videos like this make him more money than a “drinker recommends” for a movie from the 1990s like Falling Down.

I think he realized that most of his views come from people tuning in to watch him rip into shows as opposed to actual critiques or praising shows.

His most popular videos are negative reviews, of which only one takes a standard critique approach (the scene comparison between the original Ghostbusters and the 2016 remake, which avoids most of his tropes and just plays a straightforward "This is why the first worked and the second didn't").

Rounding out his top 10 are:

The Predator is Everything Wrong with Movies Today
Velma Is Complete And Utter Trash
Prometheus - The Franchise Killer
She-Hulk - A Lesson In Terrible Writing
Wonder Woman 1984 - A Ridiculous Disaster
The Rings Of Power - A Billion Dollar Nightmare
Alien Covenant - Why Does This Movie Exist?
Queen Cleopatra - The Most Hated Show Of All Time?
Snow White Looks Hilariously Bad

It should be noted that some of those broke 4 million views within a year.

The highest view count for a positive review? 2.6 million for Starship Troopers, which puts it at around 41st most watched on his channel.

So you can't exactly blame the guy for going back to what is clearly working. His audience wants to watch him dunk on movies; it's not worth it for him to review a good show or movie (especially shows - he'll get a combined 10+ million views dunking on a bad show like Rings of Power or The Acolyte; hell, he's got several videos about the live action Snow White and that movie hasn't even come out yet (4 by my cursory count).

Why make positive reviews when you only get half the views of when you tear stuff down?

they can't help but claim everything is THE WORST.

i'd like to see them claim that The American Society of Magical Negroes is better than The Crow remake.

it's this 100%. When the only people still watching you want to hear that everything sucks, and you earn your living by getting those people to continue to tune in, you have to keep moving the bar lower for what is the "worst"

Absolute dog shite movies are a tier above absolute dog shite movies wearing the skin suit of a cult classic film immortalized by tragedy.

That's a real "Whoops, my franchise take didn't age well. Time to double down" situation.

I don't like Prometheus, but most Alien fans I know adore it.

Yes. At least it tried to do something original as flawed as that might have been instead of desecrating the corpse of something people like.

Prometheus fricking sucks. The black goo and trying to explain the engineers is Hollywood pseudo intellectual philosophy bs at its worst. They can’t just let something be everything MUST be filled in and MUST be explained down to every last insignificant detail.
