I am only a few episodes into season 3. While I may possibly be slightly less entertained than before. I simply cannot understand how anyone could say it is starting to suck. Suck means something.

Beth is the most dislikable character ever, IMHO. She adds nothing to the show while trying to act like a badass.

Best characters on the show are Rip and Mo.

Jamie is a fricking murderer.

They gave her more screen time and showed her being even more of a count to Jamie, and still the show wont reveal WHY.
did you even watch the past 2 episodes?

they had issues with the Utah govt. and Tax breaks. Next season will be filmed entirely in Montana

I'm guessing having to move the whole operation will take some time?
Yeah, apparently Utah's film credit budget ran out, or wasn't big enough to give the full 25% return they had promised. Montana has just started doing tax breaks for productions as well, and has a bigger budget.

Just read an article that said they have moved the interior ranch sets from Utah to Montana already. Sheridan has apparently said that season 4 will center around the ranch more, as it allows them to keep the cast somewhat quarantined/isolated and implement very strict testing.

Did the retarded pink hair chick get branded? Who knows they completely dropped that requirement. Jimmy actually talking about leaving out loud to Lloyd, and Lloyd says nothing knowing full well in the past that would put Jimmy face down in that ditch.

Great points.

The abortion botch is one of the most unbelievable storylines they’ve ever added. As if, during that whole process, they would’ve never mentioned to Beth what was actually going to happen to her.

Same thing my wife said immediately.

And somewhere out there, there is a jet flying around with a bomb in the fuel tank that could explode any minute and kill many innocent people. (from last season).

Yeah even when they revealed why it still didn’t make any fricking sense.

i didnt say it made sense. I mean the doctor would get the consent of the patient about the procedure he is about to perform before he does it. So she would know.

Did you read the suck episode formula I posted? Are you doubting the accuracy, more or less?

I’m a veteran of countless series that started awesome but soon rode the suck train.

Suck is when I have my phone out surfing the web or playing a game whilst in the background on the TV that Indian chick is crying about something, or the ranch hands are hooping about something, or Beth is calling Jaime a count for the 1000th time, and once per episode I’ll see Rip getting ornery with someone and watch the beat down for a few minutes, and next some pointless other shite comes on. At some point there will be about 3-4 minutes of actual plot movement, at a rate ridiculed by snails and small turtles, but I will watch dutifully.

That. Is. Suck.

Last season went down hill and we pushed on to the end, not really enjoying it. This season, as soon as that terrible new girl opened her mouth in the arena, with her horrible, high-school-drama-class-cringeworthy accent, I knew I couldn't make it thru this season. Terrible TV with beautiful scenery.

But it was done on the reservation. Same rules may not apply. I found it unrealistic that John wasn’t upset at Beth at all for lying to him as well; kind of a big betrayal on her part to hide a pregnancy from her own father.

I’ve actually enjoyed that this season has been a little more light hearted.

This week’s episode is total set up. The deal being offered to Jamie and Beth’s betrayal could cause Jamie to stab the entire family in the back. The Chief setting Monica up to be a proverbial “wolf in the henhouse“ who works against the family from the inside. Possible set up of Jimmy continuing to rodeo against John’s wishes.

It was many years back so I can’t say for certain, but my recall is that SOA went many seasons without dropping much and even when it did it wasn’t a consistent drop, great even thrilling episodes with some decent ones in between. I feel like it stayed moving forward plot-wise pretty consistently, albeit some odd plot directions. I don’t recall much fluff or pointless side-plots.

when they first talked about branding i was under the impression it was done to Yellowstone Lifer wranglers. Not each and everyone that come through. Which I think they messed that up when they out of the blue branded Bingham.

Yeah some of this criticism is subjective. Heck maybe most of it. I love gravitas in a series even if it still has light hearted or amusing moments. SOA, The Wire, The Shield, Breaking Bad (Obviously the gravitas kingpin, The Sopranos).

The show has definitely dropped greatly from the gravitas is started with.

Who gives a F about Jimmy rodeoing? Pointless side plot fluff. Although I could see the side plot being made more interesting, right now it’s just fluff.

That’s right. Good recall there. Was there more of a line between the lifers and others before? I think so but don’t recall examples. I remember thinking it was like the mafia, while the “others” were just scrubs but now seems like they’re all the same.

He did it to protect John and the ranch but again...he’s portrayed as spineless and selfish. I’m ready for him to tell John and his whore arse daughter to get fricked!

I liked it at first, but the way the family treated Jamie for no apparent reason started to turn me off. If John is going to constantly tell Jamie hes selfish, but the show doesnt actually portray him as ever behaving selfishly, then it's just frustrating. Then Beth was made out to be a hero, and she is the trashiest, most unlikable character on the show.

Not sure we are watching the same show. Most people I know LOVE Beth! She is my favorite character on the show. We all love a bad arse bitch woman! Jamie is a pussy. And half the show is seeing the scenery. I feel like part of the reason for the ranching and cowboy stuff is to show the land, the buffalo, the ranches. I wouldn't feel the same about this show if the scenery looked like West Texas.
