This is the reason oldies stations play so much Neil Diamond. He's very popular w/women and women are the demo most sponsors are trying to reach (they presumably do most of the household shopping)

I like Dust in the Wind, but the rest of your list is good.
Not necessarily universal, but as an LSU fan, Callin Baton Rouge and Bitch I'm from Louisiana are both garbage fricking songs. Stop playing it in the stadium every 10 minutes.
