The Lakers have the 7th-worst record in the NBA. 7th-worst.
And a whole bunch of people think that they are title contenders, because they made some trades that marginally improved their roster. I still can't believe that people on this board really think that.

the new Lakers don't know how to play with each other yet.
I think this is a salient point. The lakers shipped out ~75 minutes a game in Westbrook, Bryant and Beverly and now need to incorporate 4 new players 2/3 through the season.
Lebron is a tough guy to play with and chemistry can be slow to come. I think the lakers are better after these trades, but they may not be better immediately.
Their schedule is not very forgiving over the next few weeks so it could be a step back without enough time to left for two steps forward.

It's almost like Stockholm Syndrome: supposed Pels fans who are captivated by the Lakers mystique.
It's what I said before the season about the potential Durant trade, that our fanbase lacked self-respect. I got upset because, in my opinion, too many of us didn't think that we deserved Durant, that we were just little New Orleans and should know our place.
Shel, I know that you didn't appreciate my attitude at that time, but I see this ridiculous "Lakers are title contenders" stuff as the same phenomenon.

There are two minutes left in the first quarter of this game, and the new Lakers have 12 points. They have obviously improved the roster so much!

They're interviewing a girl sitting next to Lebron about sitting next to Lebron while Lebron is just sitting there pretending he's not listening. This is the weirdest thing in history.

It was like watching some dumb sitcom or something. I had to mute it.

The lakers were gifted a good team

They're so much better and balanced now with that roster.

They can flip AD this offseason for a nice package if they want. That 2024 pick is not as tasty as it once was

Every ten-ish years the lakers get a gift trade. Kobe, pau, the shite they pulled off this past week

Beating a good team on the road while missing one of your star players.
We haven't done that in a while.

AD has been complete shite too

I guess all the people who said their defense would be worse were wrong.

Steph is hurt also. They are a completely different team without him. I don’t get the love fest frick the lakers

They're still really hard to beat at their house even without Curry.

Still went out on the road without Lebron and didn't let the hostile environment get to them, meanwhile our only 2 road wins since January are Denver and Washington.
