Perspective: The Blazers were 16-25 at the halfway point and started tanking a few weeks later. THEY HAVE A BETTER RECORD THAN THE LAKERS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON (11-26 vs LA's 10-27).

Lakers very much feel like Garnett/Pierce Nets at this point.

Everyone sort of thought they had a few more runs in them, but father time caught up FAST, and really the only path forward will be to break up AD/Lebron and trade them to teams that can use them as cogs in the wheel instead of the engines of everything. If not, best case scenario the Lakers tap out at low level playoff teams that wont get out of the second round for a year than Lebron walks, AD flounders as LA's resentment builds up with Street Clothes

Indeed. I admit, I've been super negative on the Pels (and still am on Zion, whom I literally blamed everything on minus the Lindbergh kidnapping) but everything else they've done has been marvelous. Watching them do what they've done recently has been incredible.

So should we make an offer to bring AD home lol?

Give them their pick this year (which was house money anyway) and the deferred pick. We keep the pick swap next year, which should be a great pick if they do tear it down.

Im guessing some combo of Graham, Hayes, temple, JV(welp) for AD and Nunn. Will need a cheap defensive big.

Would kill our chemistry but when AD is your 4th option, that has to make you favs.

Yes, because AD would love to move back to Nola and play out the rest of his career here…. Lol

They aren't though. Spurs have a tough tough schedule down the stretch if those teams aren't resting guys (they may against the Spurs just to ensure that the Lakers don't make it in).

Lakers have a tough schedule too but they played the Nuggets real tough and it was a game until the end, without Lebron. Lebron is going to play at least 2 more games to make him eligible for the scoring title.

We need to win two more, have the Spurs win 2 more, and not have the Lakers win more than 2.

I will believe the Lakers are dead and buried when I see the grave filled with dirt.

Yep

The only real races are Pels/Spurs 9th/10th and also Spurs/Lakers 10th/11th.

But if the Lakers get the 10th seed, we'll all be a bit worried that Lebron will just go off for 2 games and get them into the playoffs. Not saying it's likely, but it's definitely a concern.

Right. Its not like the Pels and Spurs are 4 games up on them.

We are 3 games up on them with tiebreaker too (only 1 game up on Spurs and they have tiebreaker).

Spurs are only 2 games up on the Lakers with the tiebreaker, but with AD back and if Lebron plays, I don't care how bad they have been, anything is possible.

Now is not the time to rest fingers on triggers.

We have to win the next two, have Lakers and Spurs lose the next two, and then I will feel fine.

Pops last season > LeBron and the Lakers

The NBA finds storylines throughout the playoffs.

Lakers are dead. They got all the momentum taken from them on Friday night.

The other thing, I think you pointed out yesterday, is we or the Spurs may win a tiekbreaker for playoff seeding but a tie is still not wanted as it just comes down to a coin toss for draft pick status.

We really just need the Suns to be the Suns and put them in the dirt. I think the Suns still care about beating the breaks of the Lakers, given the talking after the last game.

Nah. Not if you're talking to who the NBA would rather have in. LeBron brings you viewers, the Pop storyline, not so much.

I worry about the refs helping the Lakers out. We have been lucky that LeBron has not been attacking in the 4th because he is gassed.

After the comments Toni made about the Suns, I think the Suns want to bury the Lakers. They rested their main guys yesterday too.

The NBA can’t will the dead-arse Lakers in if LeBron, Mr Glass, and Westbrick don’t show up, either literally or metaphorically.

If the Lakers do miss out on the playoffs, are we guaranteed that pick or do we still have to hope the lottery goes our way?

Gotta hope the lottery goes our way.

But if the Lakers finish 8th worse, then 3 teams would need to top them to fall to 11, and there's a 99.6% chance it stays in the top 10.

If they're at 10th exactly going into the lottery, it's a 20% chance they fall to 11 or lower.
