He's not actually good, he just makes really flashy plays for his size

I’d take Mo Bamba before him.

He looks like a unicorn 1/100 times. He's been around for like 4-5 years now, right? We have a pretty good sample of his play (and he sucks). A shitty team just declined effectively a min contract b/c he's that bad. Go look up his stats the 2nd half of the year last year. I think he was sub-10% from 3

LOL he shot 8.69 percent from 3 from Jan-April.

And we think Herb can't shoot.

Not that i want him, b/c he's not any good, but he'd be $1M cheaper to sit at the end of the bench instead of Zeller.

Zeller knows the offense and Borrego likes him.

Bol Bol is Bad Bad...I'm happy with Zeller. At least HE can set a pick. Borrego will be the biggest improvement, for the Pels' offense this year. The "shot selection" by a coupla of our players (OK...at least one) should be solved by Borrego.

Borrego just needs a coupla players (preferably more) that are willing & able...to set a pick. A fairly dirty job that few actually want to bother doing.

He’s 7’2” and can’t even play center because he’s as thin as a twig. No real NBA level game to speak of besides the occasional big dunk or shot block. I’d take a small risk on him but I’m not giving up anything of value or paying him anything besides the minimum.

cool. He'll be able to help coach from the bench b/c he's not going to play much at all when we are healthy.

He has no potential to get better. At least Bol Bol still has some potential. not much, but more than Zeller.

I don't think that's true. Larry has injury issues and JV has limited fit. There were quite a few games last year where serviceable minutes out of Jaxson or Billy would have helped a lot.

So what? Jaxson has tons of potential and most people seemed to be remarkably OK with a former #8 pick just leaving. What raw talent has this team developed recently? That's not what this coaching staff seems to be good at. Making use of useful players is what they are good at. Serviceable minutes out of Zeller >>>>>>> Bol Bol's unrealized potential for this team.

Did you want us to keep Jaxson?

Totally agree...Borrego obviously wanted Zeller & I think we will get a bit more out of Zeller, than most think...and ANYTHING we get...will be an improvement over what we got from Jaxson & Billy.

If Zeller is reliable enough to give you minutes on most nights even if it's only 10-15 quality minutes, I think a lot of fans would be very happy.

In a vacuum for 2.1MM (which he signed for with the Lakers) emphatically yes. Don’t know about the relationship between player and team but it had to be no bueno.
