No bump in a long time.
Nice game by DD the other night,
27 points, 13-19, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks and a steal. Led all scorers in a win.
Last ten games averaging
15.7 pts 7.2 Rebs 5.7 assists 1.7 steals over 50% shooting…
All with elite level defense..
Herbs last ten games for comparison
8.9pts 3.6 Rebs 2.2 assists 1.4 steals on 34.8% shooting
Dyson is doubling him up on most stats at this point.

You should learn how to read. I’m just helping the OP out with his Season long thread that has blown up spectacularly in his face.

Dyson is shooting worse than last year and still cant make fts. I thought he was only going to get better?

Have you seen what Herb is shooting this year?

If/when Jones is traded will this thread be retired?

He’s doubling up Herbs numbers but you don’t think he’s better lol?

It can be retired right now when Whatidontknowsofar waves the white flag and admits defeat.

Herb is 27 and still can’t shoot. So what?

Herb is done. He was never the most talented but he gave you hustle and tenacity. Now he just doesn’t give a shite, so you lose the hustle and tenacity and you are left with a less than talented NBA player. Not sure if it’s an injury or climate but he’s been bad this year.

I luv both players...they are fairly close on defense...DD is better rebounder & better at finishing around basket...Herb is better 3-pt shooter & free throw shooter. Neither should shoot from beyond 8' unless it is a 3-pt shot.
If you watch DD...you realize his outside shooting has become seriously HORRIBLE...confidence is totally shot. He's shooting 15.3% from 3 on 7-44...it's really hard to shoot that poorly on uncontested 3s...they have basically stopped guarding him at the 3-pt line & many teams have started guarding him with their "5", who just lingers in the paint & clogs things up inside. His shot is flat out "broken"...and I'm not sure if it's physical or mental...this situation will only get worse if he doesn't fix it...somehow.
ANY serious contender would prefer to add Herb to their roster rather than DD. Not really close...at this time. But...things can always change...we'll see.

Lol no he isnt. Hes the primary pg on the Hawks so hes going to get more assists but hes not even scoring better than one of herbs worst seasons.

Something else the board said DD wasn’t capable of. And yes his assists and rebounding are double Herbs and he’s scoring more this year and last. But ok.

He is scoring less than last year. Or are you trying to compare dyson outscoring herb last year when he played 12 whole games with a torn labrum?

He is scoring less than last year but it’s still more than any year Herb has had. Herbs numbers last year were on par with his career. He’s had one outlier year where he shot over 40% on threes, but all of the other years are low 30s%.
And that’s mostly from the beginning of the year. I guess it took time to adjust to an entirely different role in the offense.

Herb just had more steals tonight than Dyson had in his last 5 games combined, locked down Kevin Durant in the 2nd half, and ignited the Pels comeback.

Quick update for you guys.
Dyson "he's only going to get better on offense" daniels is shooting 9% from 3 in the month of December, which is exactly what teams love to pay 25 mil a year for for their guards.

This thread in itself was stupid and I was (still am) high on Dyson Daniels.
We watched that shite in real time, whatever Willie & them did to him early on broke his confidence and shooting. Its purely psychological at this point.

Not really.... Dyson isn't going to suddenly be a good shooter. There's enough of a sample size to say he's probably going to be always be mediocre shooting who can get streaky. His free throw percentage is a good indicator. Now you can hope he becomes an outlier and buck the trend but I wouldn't gamble on that.
As far as defense goes, his impact is overrated on a team like the hawks. They're still a shitty defensive team regardless and there's nothing Daniels can do to fix it. He's still a very good onball defender but in the modern game, teams have and will continue to attack around him with good success. The hawks are 15-15 for a reason and they were supposed to have a window this year with all the injuries in the east. They're exactly where they've been sitting last season.
I applaud Daniels for improving his efficiency around the basket and is much more confident finisher near and at the paint. But I don't see him as someone to cry about anymore especially now more than ever with Fears/Queen here.

Come on, Willie is to blame for a good bit of stuff, but he's not to blame for shooting struggles for a guy that he hasn't coached in over a year. He improved last year, and has just fallen off this year (3pt shooting at least). That ain't on Willie.
