Your line-up has one plus athlete (Zion). They rest are average, at best, for the positions. Plus you have two that are oversized playing out of position and will be at a massive speed disadvantage the entire time they play together.
I don't see why this is not obvious. Nobody else is playing 6'8 and 6'9 backcourts together. Speed and quickness matter..

It's the best value contract we saw signed today.
I have no problem with the Herb contract. Fair to both sides with each side getting certain hidden benefits outside of the actual $$ numbers.
Seems the logical way to look at it is: Pels had Herb for the upcoming season for $1.8M & coulda just stuck with that & then worried about the future later...& Pels aren't gonna just "give away" that HUGE bargain season they had left of Herb at $1.8M & get nothing back. So, the $1.8M was kinda baked into the cake. Result? Pels actually offered Herb the $1.8M for the 1st year...then added a 3-yr $52M for the final 3 years. Then...for obvious reasons, the Pels moved the yearly $$ around to gain maximum benefit and ended up with $12M, $13M, $14M and then $15M for the 4th & final year.
So basically...Pels signed Herb for an additional 3 yrs/$52M...on top of his 1 yr/1.8M, which they already had. An average of $17.33M for those extra 3 years sounds about right to me...especially when those added benefits which both sides gained by doing it this way...are considered.

Teams will run that squad off the court.
Weird take considering Zion alone with any other 4 dudes wins his minutes consistently.

Apparently Zion is the only “plus” athlete in a lineup with Trey Herb and Brandon Ingram

Yes, in comparison to other comparable players with similar size.
What you are proposing is not common. Teams go smaller, not bigger. There is no world where McCollum is not on the floor to start or finish. The push is for him to slide off ball, which requires us adding another PG. We have had to use Alvarado the past couple of seasons to make that happen. Which is why Scoot was a dream addition.
You are just trying to shoehorn Jones and Murphy into those closing line ups. That's not ideal. The only reason Murphy got so much time was Ingram and Zion missing 90 games combined last year. If we have any health luck at all, someone is sitting (maybe multiple guys). Some people on here are in for a rude awakening..

There’s no universe where Trey isn’t a “plus athlete”

Apparently I woke up in the universe where he is a “limited athlete” hmmmm

Murphy is 6’8” with a 7’ wingspans and 38” vertical
He defines modern NBA wing

He has completely elite shooting numbers and was the runner up in the dunk contest. I mean…

Trey is the mold of an athletic wing.
I would say we have more plus athletes on this team than most. Herb, Trey, Dyson, Larry, Zion, Kira, are all plus athletes.

Y'all, when brmark has one of his "we should trade for Westbrook" takes, you just have to ignore him.

same deal Austin Reeves got and he can play offense.
Posted on 7/1/23 at 3:32 pm to tibebecolston
Not the same deal Reaves got. Reaves has an option in year three. Plus a trade kicker.
