Sounds like this one came "out of the blue". Just about ANYTHING can be "worked around" for an NBA player...before action like the Spurs took. Doubt something like gambling, drugs or physical abuse of a girlfriend...would lead to Spurs going this route. I actually hope it's one of those three...but I doubt it.

Yep. We’re anxiously awaiting Herb to post an update in this thread.

Was a strange draft pick at the time - Spurs really stuck their neck out to draft him.
Disaster pick as it turns out.

Popovich
I think it’s clear they feel like everyone is going say “they did what they had to do” when the reason comes out

Asked what led to the release of Primo, Pop said, "Have you all gotten the statement we've made? That's all I choose to say about that right now. We are just going to stick with what we told you all."

I mean it's gotta be rape-y or kiddy diddling type of bad.
Primo wouldn't be releasing a statement if that was the case.

What comes to mind is the Cris Carter “All he does is catch touchdowns!” comment by Buddy Ryan on releasing Carter.
Carter is a HOF level WR and has said that getting cut by the Eagles was a wake up call to get his head straight with regards to drugs.

Briefly after he was released there was some *grain of salt* talk that he was involved with a murder/murder investigation on *another grain of salt* reddit.

certainly possible he did that but why the hell would he, after as you said they just picked up his option? He’s walking away from 4MM dollars
the Spurs certainly would have let him go on personal leave. Even if they didn’t agree with the reason

They wouldn't delete pics of him from social media and quickly get his jersey off the shelves if he asked for his release because he was having mental issues.

Another millionaire athlete murderer? Would be crazy. Hope that's not true.

Gotta admit...I was expecting something even worse than that.

Thats pretty bad. If the team found out he must've been running around the facility or his apartment complex doing that often.

People were saying on twitterz he was well known for pulling it out on the river walk to unsuspecting waitresses at a few restaurants….
