One can hope the Dejounte stuff is just smoke and pels really want Trae. But I doubt it. I honestly think Hawks will trade both and start over.

I wouldn't believe anything that comes out right now. Everything you've heard has been contradictory. Just like the AD trade, there's going to be smoke and mirrors until the finals are over and we'll start to get real information soon after.

I think and hope this is how it actually works out, because then a 4 team trade between Hawks, Pels, Cavs and Spurs would make sense for everyone.
Spurs: Garland, Hunter
Cavs: Murray, Ingram
Pels: Trae, Allen
Hawks: Nance, Dyson, Keldon Johnson, their own picks back from Spurs, 2 or 3 1sts from Pels
Everyone would get what they want with that and would absolutely love to do it IMO. Hawks shed a shitload of salary and create a couple large TPE’s where they can take on bad contracts and get even more picks.
Spurs get who they are rumored to be hot after in Garland
Cavs get Murray who will fit alongside Spida better, and Ingram at the 3
Pels get their PG and rim protector

I agree with your other points but I’m pretty sure they want to get off of Hunter’s contract. His production nor his health matches the contract they gave him. Hes seen more as a negative asset.

That same guy must think they will trade both PGs as well. Here is his trade proposal-

Something to keep an eye on, but if this is true the decision to keep Willie is even more baffling
Is it baffling when Griff just gave him a secret extension for accomplishing absolutely nothing. He hired Monty 2.0 and woukd be on his 3rd coach. He shouldn’t get that opportunity on top of his other screwups…

Giving up BI, DD and a draft pick for Murray? Atlanta getting way to much in that trade and we giving to much.

Willie Green visited Saints minicamp today and met up with Dennis Allen. I’m sure this was a great meeting of the minds. I coach a mediocre basketball team so maybe I’ll go visit and learn from a mediocre football team and coach. Smh

That guy Jake Weinerbach posts that look like sourced rumors, but are actually just his random opinions based on other reporting. He uses phrasing like, "Team X could/ should/ appears to / might be interested in..."
However, there's a lot of rumors on the X right now about Spurs and Hawks deal with a lot of traction. Spurs getting pick #1 (Risacheer) and Hawks getting picks #4 (Clingan) and #8. But the interesting part is rumblings that it could also include Trae to the Spurs... likely with some of the Hawks' picks that the Spurs own being returned to them.

I like this one. It actually makes sense for just about everyone involved, except for the Cavs. I don't think it addresses their biggest fears and concerns. Would they give Ingram an extension before the season? If they don't resign Mitchell, they would go into the season with two huge expiring deals. Seems risky
This is the kind of reset that the Hawks need. It would be even better if they did a swap with the Spurs for1st round picks this year (#1 for #4 and #8). The Spurs want the one French wing and there is no one worth #1 for the Hawks. But there is some solid players in the top 10. Gives them two shots.

I think this deal here would almost assure that Mitchell signs the extension this offseason because this makes Cleveland way better IMO, Murray moving into a third role and not having to carry an offensive load will help him concentrate more on defense. Ingram would definitely know he’s not the leader and have no choice but to fall into his role as the second star. The only issue I can see is that roster would get expensive very quick especially with the rumors that Cavs are just handing Mobley a rookie max this off-season for some reason.

If ATL is blowing it up and rebuilding, Murray and Young can probably be had for cheaper than we think. Remember, they tried moving them at trade deadline, when they were in playoff contention and had no takers.

This is the crazy thing about this thread, Atlanta doesn't want, or need Ingram. They love Johnson, who is a 6'9 SF. Why would they go get a max 6'9 SF to take minutes from Johnson? They can't play major minutes next to each other. That why they want Jones, who can slide and play 4 positions.
You get so tied up in traditional positions. Why are Johnson play the 4?

I am tied up in balanced line-ups with tiered players in proper roles. Everything I have ever seen has Johnson playing SF or the wing. He played a lot of the 4 last year, due to them moving Collins. The team didn't have any traditional PFs on the roster, so they just played with one big usually. I don't know if that's sustainable long-term or if that's how he develops.
I just don't see the fit with him and Ingram. But even then, they are loaded with wings. Do they just let Bey walk? Hunter? Griffin? Even Bogdanovic plays some in a 3 guard line up. Where would Ingram fit with that group or where is Atlanta dumping some of those guys?

A BI/Nance/Dyson for Murray/Okongwu/Hunter deal lets Atlanta have a starting 5 of Trae/Dyson(or Bogi)/Ingram/JJ/Capella(untill Sarr or Clingan is ready).
Their key would have to be Ingram willing to space the floor, but I think Quinn would get him moving in that direction since he’s not a pushover like Willie

I feel like we are at the: "Goddamnit we aren't going to be able to trade BI are we?" point in the offseason
Which will quickly be followed by "Man, its alright. Its cool to keep BI" part of the offseason

I think we are the point in the off-season where we are starting to accept lesser packages lol.
If Boston wins tonight teams can start negotiations with their own FA’s/re-signings tomorrow, so we should start to hear some tidbits on contract offers and if there’s any serious negotiations happening. If there are no serious offers to BI then we know he’s getting traded for sure no matter what.

In all seriousness, I've been on the wagon that Ingram is a talent you want to keep. A good coach will just scheme around his deficiencies.
I just don't want to give him a 5 year max. There's too much injury concern. It's not the player on the court I'm worried about.
Is also emphasizes the need for a true pg. We can do this by committee but any extended time without Ingram and zion and we fricking suck.
