Great site. KMJ is a bit of an oddity for a high efg% guy...not a great 3-pt shooter but takes almost NO shots from...10-16' or 16-3-pt line...and he hammers that 0-3' at a tad over 80%. A bit odd for somebody only 6'6" or so.

So, Zion lite....

I wonder how many of these were a toe on the line.

Off top of my head, I don't remember Trey committing a "foot fault" while attempting a 3-pt shot. I believe Herb has pretty much "cornered the market" on foot faults for the Pels. I think Herb had 42, two years ago & 19 this past season...on MANY less 3-pt attempts, compared to Trey.

I used to think Herb was going to be a Kawhi-lite type, but now I’m thinking the true superstar on this team can be Murphy. I think he’s going to make that superstar jump this year, just keep getting him shots

Trey definitely has the highest ceiling...of the DD/Herb/Trey trio. But the other 2 have MUCH higher "floors" compared to Trey thanks to their solid versatility...and players seldom reach their ceiling...so we'll see how things work out long term.

How is Herb more versatile than Trey lol

Herb is a plug n play all NBA (should have been) defender that can guard across the floor. He certainly lacks the offensive potential Trey has

Know who else commits "foot-faults" / foot on the line 3-pt attempts? Kevin Durant. So basically Herb is on the same level as Durant. Think about that one.

Depends on how you look at it. Herb is a more versatile defender. I also think he has some Point Forward in his game.

Both versatile players. Just in different ways.

Herb is 25, his floor is already his ceiling. He’s not even comparable to the other two in terms of prospects

Dyson’s floor is being able to check All NBA talent as a 19 year old and Murphy’s floor is a 6’9” guy who will shoot 40% from 3 for a decade plus. Their ceilings are All NBA kinda guys

Trey’s floor is/was higher than Herb’s, imo.

Certainly

I don't think Herb will have a season as good as Treys 2nd season.

Outside of the 2 #1's and CP3 Trey is the biggest break the franchise has gotten. I define break as a ceiling/performance vastly exceeding expectations. BI is amazing but you gave up an all nba player to get him. He has exceeded expectations but its not as big of a jump as Trey.

Trey will be an all star level player and you got him at 17. His upside is yet to be defined... he is far more athletic than anyone expected and improving at an incredible rate.

Is it a foregone conclusion that if the roster is fully healthy, Trey will be starting and Herb will be coming off of the bench?

Nah herb will be in first, Trey will close the 4th and finish more though.

I still think our crunch time lineup has to be

CJ
B.I.
Herb
Trey
Z

Are we sure about this? I know that’s what they went with last year to start, but I feel like we should probably maximize the amount of shooting around Zion at all times.

ETA: I think ultimately Herb and Trey will end up with a similar number of minutes, I just think that Trey should be paired with Zion as much as possible.

And it worked with healthy z. Willie wants herb to shut down the other teams best player.

Zion trey and CJ will be one of if not the highest 3 man lineup minutes wise on the team.

I’d throw a million on Trey to win 6 man of the year

I don't think it is, but I do think it should be.

I do too. I just highly doubt Willie wants more offense/less defense with a starting five including CJ B.I. and Z

Herb is an NBA starter. His defense is too good to not be out there on the best offensive player.

I know Trey wants to start, but he'll play top 4 minutes on this team, and i think having a lineup with Trey/Zion going up against bench players in that end of 1st/3rd quarter and early 2nd/4th is what we want to to try to do.
