Geez Lakers already signed 3 UDFAs

Pelicans:

Landers Nolley II 6’7 Guard

quote:

Nolley earned All-AAC first-team honors this past season after posting 16.8 points per game, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. He started all 36 games as a scoring stalwart and posted one of the greatest three-point shooting seasons in program history (41.7% on 6.8 tries per game).

Tevian Jones 6’6 Guard

quote:

Southern Utah’s Tevian Jones has agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, I’m told. The 6’6 ¾” swingman w/ a 6’10” wingspan averaged 18.0 PTS, 4.3 REB, 1.3 AST, 1.0 STL this season. Went absolutely nuclear w/ a 36-point outburst at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.

Liam Robbins 7’0 center

quote:

Mobile big and one of the best rim protectors in the country last season (3.2 BPG). Has upside as a stretch big (36.5% on 2.0 3PA)

Does Nolley play games for the Pels this season? Which players on roster is he better than as far as keeping him.

It depends. If they signed him to a 2 way contract, he can play up to 50 games. The tweet about him signing didn't specify what type of contract he signed to.

Its clear shooting was priority 1,2 and 3 followed by rim protection a distant 4.

Doubtful. I'd imagine we have bigger aspirations than an undrafted dude to fill that need, he'd be last resort or if we hit the lottery on him.

We should not be relying on an UDFA for rim protection

I doubt any UDFA is signed with the thought that he will fill a spot, it's usually always a hope and a prayer.

A dude who averaged 3.2 blocks on an average of 23mpg in the SEC would certainly qualify as one of those hopes/prayers for rim protection

The spot he could possibly fill would be Willy’s spot.

If we don’t exercise his TO, we need someone who can come in off the bench for cheap as a big.

We need to know what the team thinks of Karlo and EJ. Someone here said they saw Karlo in town last week, which if true I take as a sign he's expecting a roster spot and isn't just here for summer league and going back to Europe.
