I don’t want to trade him but hypothetically speaking, what could we get?

What would you trade for an extremely good player that has only played 114 games in 4 years and is on a 5 year max?

A lot of picks and young promising players, which we already have and don't really need. We need our damn superstar to play basketball games.

I think Zion is basically a forced hold at this point, no sense trading him just to trade him

Probably not anything worth entertaining. No one is going to give up a superstar unless maybe Luka demanded out, but even then we’d probably have to attach stuff to him. Hoping that his injuries don’t become a trend is the only path to this franchise building a contender.

Woukd y’all trade Jaren Jackson for Zion str8 up? I don’t think I would have before. But these injuries are getting tiresome.

Grizz would basicalky be going what I hoped for us draft night. Pairing Ja with Zion.

Cuban is way to smart than to get punked by the idiots running the Pelicans like Griffin, Loomis and Company. Zion is basically a max contract liability for the next 5 years. The guy is a generational bust.
Pelicans played poker with a 22 year old that could give a shite and got blown out the water.

Luka always plays and he’s a lot better player than Zion

That’s essentially a top 3 least realistic trade proposal you can make

A realistic trade proposal is a 3 teamer with OKC and a different team to help match salary.

OKC gets Zion. We get Jalen Williams or Giddey and a pick or 2. 3rd team is there to help facilitate w salary matching.

We ain’t getting frickin Luka bro lol

We aren’t getting a star for him, but I would be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about what the team would look like if they traded Zion for quite a few REALLY solid players.

It would have to be a middling team like Atlanta, for example. What if they did something like Collins, Hunter, maybe you could swindle Okongwu or Griffin, for Zion plus. I have no idea what that would actually look like but it would take a team that’s desperate

Yeah guys that play games and are above average would definitely be an improvement over a guy that plays 28 games

I would try to at least trade for a Quasi Star though or someone that could develop.

Cade Cunningham
Sengun
Jalen Williams
Giddey

I’d be making calls for those types of players just to see if those teams would bite at adding a 2 time all star for a player that might become an all star down the line (but there is no guarantee)

I’d also make a call for Mikal Bridges and offer Zion and picks for him. It’s worth a try. Although I doubt that is even realistic due to Bridges playing 100 games a year and Zion playing 100 games every 4 years.

You can also cross your fingers and hope Boston and Memphis lose early in the playoffs and try to dangle Zion and picks for Jaylen Brown or Zion and picks for JJJ or Zion straight up for Bane to pair Z w his aau buddy Morant.

Pels injuries have made me so gun-shy, I would only want multiple players (or preferably one superstar) that doesn't play (or rarely plays) above the rim. Doesn't guarantee they won't miss significant time, but the risk is calculably lower.

Off the top: Jokic, Luka, M. Bridges, Claxton, Sabonis, Wagner.

Who else? Steph, Booker, Klay, Lillard, Durant all have had recent street-clothes-itis. Trae is a cancer. Prime Chris Paul would've fit the criteria. Is Giannis or Tatum too athletic?

No team in their right mind would trade any of those guys for Zion. His trade value right now is pretty low.

He should have already been traded for whatever we can get. We have to move on from this fricker.

right now its not worth discussing.

lets say he plays all 6 games in the playoff series loss vs Denver and has avg 27 6.5 4.

do you still want out?

you can probably get into wembanyama sweepstakes and one of the top 4 picks before the balls are picked. and a nice player. someone 28 who made nba 2nd team once. or a kid with upside.
there's still a deep discount until he plays 65.
