Is this a serious question, or do you not think Embiid has been healthy the last 4 years?

Zion did not come out of college hobbled. Emblid was not the 1st overall pick.

Zion had an injury in college too. He had a major knee injury in his year at Duke when he blew out his shoe. Curry had severe ankle problems first couple of years as well. With Zion he could be Embiid but he could also follow Brandon Roy or Greg Oden so who knows.

some chance pels win a 7 game series. by then zion is playing. he gets his 25 6.5 3.8 in the 2nd round. no sooner does the final round end, you finalize the deal for a golden ticket to the wembanyama fiesta. you get a 2 way wing and a couple #1s, one being a top 6 pick 2023 that can become scoot, Miller, the better twin, or frenchie himself.

Plus you get this constant distracting fat frick out of your locker room. It’s gonna suck when he wins like 3 titles for the Knicks but that’s better than him just sitting around Ochsner eating Big Macs.

The shoe collapse was a mild knee sprain and he missed 3 weeks.

Yeah that was a pretty big deal especially in college where theres not nearly as many games. The guy only played one year at a very densed playing level in college and was still injured. I mean his pro career has been similar if not worse.

Either he’s just milking his contract as much as he can to get out of nola with as little wear and tear as possible….

Or he’s just paranoid over getting injured again…

The fact that there’s crickets from him and no attempt to shut down talk of the first reason show to me that he wants out

Or he is simply a mentally weak and lazy person that has no business being a team leader let alone the face of an NBA franchise.
Probably some combination of all of the above.

Embiid was injured in college, Zion in preseason rookie year, how do you think that changes your point at all? It doesn't.

Because he was injured in college.

Neither point you made are logical retorts to the Zion/Embiid comparison. They just aren't.

So to confirm, your argument is that it's worse to come into the league with minor injuries and better to come into the league with major injuries?

If memory serves Embiid is injured in the playoffs often. I could be wrong though.

There was no lingering injury when he came into the league.

No. Embiid has never been healthy. He is one of the most injury plagued players in the league that has to be restricted constantly due to injury concerns.

I always love people bringing up Embiid as their unicorn example. I don't know how him being intentionally sidelined so the team can tank (the process) proves anything. Is that what we are doing? Intentionally benching Zion to tank?

No, You don't come off Zion unless he asks out. Its not the injuries with Zion, its his rehab off the injuries. He reminds me of Michael Vick, so compact with muscle he’d be 20lbs heavier if he didn’t move for a week. He likely knows he has to come off his preferred weight to have a chance at having a relatively healthy career.

Eric Gordon and a slew of former pelicans immediately come to mind

ETA: for a more similar comparison in terms of size and type of player. Julius Randle broke his fricking leg in like his first game as a pro.

Plus, it would be the most pelicans shite of all time if we traded him and he got healthy. That kind of shite happens to this franchise with regularity and I don’t want to risk it happening again. If it did, we’d be on the fast track to Seattle

then what do you think you'll get for him that would make us a true contender?

i absolutely think we could get AT LEAST a 1st rounder for him... then what you decide to do with that, dunno...

but i do know that it's better to get ANYTHING, vs. getting NOTHING...

The best ability to have is availabilty..... and he doesn't have it. You won't get much for him in a trade. You won't get much from him keeping him on the roster. I hope I'm wrong and he turns himself around.
