I'm down on that fat injured frick like everyone else, but all trading him means you are getting 43 cents on the dollar and that you're blowing up the team.

The only way we have any chance of competing for a title is with Zion, because he's literally the only way we will have a top 5-10 NBA player on the roster.

It sucks, but we have to ride with fatass and hope he grows up.

Yeah, pretty much. We're stuck between a rock and a hard place. You trade zion and you'll spend the next 5 years trying to draft or trade for someone just as good as him. Nobody wants to hear it but the best course is to play this out. We're either going to come out of this a contender or go down with the ship. In the meantime cut all the bullshite with zion, if he can play let him play. Appease him for better or worse, enough with this friction between him and the franchise, if that means people need to get fired then so be it.

You’re not blowing up the team if he really isn’t a part of it anyway.

All he is today is a distraction and a show on the end of the bench. 43 cents isn’t going to more valuable next year.

Let him come back to start next season and when we are the top team for the first 15 games send his arse off for a haul

I’m not so sure. It only takes one team. Screw his desired destination.

If one team thinks his issues are Griff and Nelson, we could get a nice haul.

Look at Minnesota. Traded a ton for a dude who just got played off the court five years in a row in the playoffs.

Y’all are insane

We extend Ingram that’s a no brainer. Outside of that we have almost no contract decisions to make

We are not trading Zion

This will be more or less the Pels team next year unless we move JV, and it was a damn good team when healthy

I guarantee you that haul isnt going to amount to something greater than zion. You need stars in this league to win. If you trade zion youll be waiting around to draft or trade for a guy just as good as him.

This is the biggest issue to me with a Zion trade. Most trades for a star a lot of the value consists of picks and promising young players. Tough to get good vets back because usually the team trading for a star wants to keep most of the good players around them.

Last year he was like .73, now he’s .43, and after an injured 2023-24, he’ll be .13.

Exactly, and you never see star for star trades because every team is going to think their star is better.

100% Toxic and no reason to believe that he will actually show up in anything remotely close to being in shape in the fall.
Just IMHO ...

Would you trade Zion for Markkanan and Kessler (plus whatever makes it work)?

Zion is 100% the best player out of that group, when healthy, but Lauri and Walker seem to fit the Pels needs and timeline.

Does a CJ/BI/Herb/Trey/Lauri/Kessler top 6 work well enough to win it all? Do you believe in Kessler more than JV? And who doesn’t start?

***Although the idea of staying pat and adding Kris Murray (who seems to play just like his twin brother) as a backup 4 is growing on me.

He was in shape to start this season. It’s difficult to stay in playing shape with a leg injury that you can’t risk re-aggravating.

When healthy Zion has proven he can show up in shape and we will hopefully see that again

Hell if the Pels trade Zion who is going to high five the players rotating out of the line up every night on the sideline?

Dude is an integral part of the team, you don't just replace that level of talent.

Have to trade him and get whatever you can for him. He doesn’t want to play, he just wants to collect checks. Let some other team deal with that welfare king.

I’ll take that chance over zion at 20 games a year.

They would have to be the first team since the 04 pistons to win a title without a top 5-10 player. Do you really think that team can win the title? because i dont. You need superstars to win a title and zion is the closest we'll get to that

Do you think BI can be that guy for the Pels? I honestly don’t know…sometimes I think so, but I really come up with a solid “maybe”.

Of course not, we should all know that by now. And that's ok. He can be a #1 on a team that has some success, certainly. Just not a team that wins a title. It would be something that essentially we've never seen before.

Like the poster said, 1 team has won a title without a player on the elite of the elite level, and that team had an all time defense.

And it's not just since 2004, go back before 2004 and you may have to go back 50+ years to the NBA I don't now much about before you can find a team other than the 2004 Pistons that won a title with a player that would be on the same level as a BI.

It just doesn't happen. We want him here, we NEED him here. We need him as our #2 option.

Put feelers out and see what the market will offer.

People were annoyed by the injury bugs he always has, but they were living with it. Then he came out and gave that dumb arse interview, followed up only by an even bigger "frick you" to the team/fans by dunking and goofing off during warmups of a play in game. (A game the Pels would have likely won if that fat lazy frick actually played).
