Not a bad comp

Saw someone on twitter mention Bryant Young - I liked that one too

As I watched the CFP, I thought that there would be an uptick in threads wanting Bain. My problem with Bain as disruptive as he was last night and against A&M and Ohio State, he had stretches this season that he did not show up. He had a 5 game stretch with 6 tackles and one sack against weak competition. Maybe there was an injury (I’m certain one will be discussed during the pre draft process to explain his production dip during this time).

Talent and measurables for days and he will be a high draft pick. I just would have a concern about his ability to play to his CFP level consistently in the NFL.

Bout the only things I keep hearing are his short arms and had disappearances during the season. But what about his heart and his head lol. Is he madly driven or have a coaches brain for the game?

He had 33 pressures in the six games he didn’t have a sack per PFF. Not sure I’d call that disappearing. The other edge Akheem Mesidor had 12.5 sacks too. Perhaps there is only one QB to sack

Seems the arm may measure around 31”. That would be historically low. Guys like Geno Atkins (6’2” 293) and Trey Hendrickson (6’4” 266) have 32” arms. So while short, guys have had success with that deficiency before

Both of the Miami DE’s, CJ Daniels, Becker & Ponds would be great additions to the saints roster.

Last game he looked very slow with little to no motor. This game he’s competitive. I don’t like the see saw honestly
He was a complete non-factor against Ole Miss. Have seen him look great at times and disappear many times. He seems to run very hot and cold. Could be a risky top-10 pick.

Right. It was the other stuff I was saying being not talked about. Which was a invitation for a knowledge drop

Bain will not be available at 8.
Don’t be fooled by mock drafts. There’s 2-3 teams that will draft him if he’s available ahead of the saints.

That's the knock on him. Have seen a few games where he wasn't overly impactful. But the talent is undeniable. .

To me - character flaw players always drop. James Pearce was that guy and Atlanta took a gamble on him.

Is motor a character flaw though? I'd argue and say yes, in this league you gotta be motivated to succeed. The interviewed will be interesting because he's gonna measure well.

Bailey is a hot topic, arguably the best pass rusher but he's so goddamn bad vs the run. Does that even matter?

Louisville game - 1 tackle, 0 sacks, 0 tfl (tackle for loss)

Stanford game - 1 tackle, 0 sacks, 0 tfl

NC State game - 0 tackles, 0 sacks, 0 tfl

Virginia Tech game - 1 tackle, 0 sacks, 0 tfl

One tackle or less is not overly impactful; though clearly teams can game plan to limit a stud like Bain's effectiveness. But it seems at least fair to question the motor.
