Absolutely not taking a RB in the top 10.
Between AK, estime, Miller, and Neal we should be able to put together a decent run game if healthy. Our problem was that we had all of our RBs hurt

None of those guys are good. They are RB2 & RB3’s

There is essentially zero breakaway ability in that group.

RB’s drafted in the top 10 going back to Reggie Bush and their rookie year QB
Jeanty - Geno Smith
Bijan - Desmond Ridder
Barkley - Old arse Eli
Fournette - Blake Bortles
Cmac - Nearly washed Cam Newton
E. Elliott - Dak Prescott
Todd Gurley - Nick Foles
Trent Richardson - Brandon Weeden
CJ Spiller - Ryan Fitzpatrick
Darren McFadden -JaWalrus Russell
Adrian Peterson - Tarvarious Jackson
Reggie Bush - Drew Brees
A few thoughts:
You have to go back to Trent Richardson to find a true bust.
The biggest problem is teams drafting a rb top 10 usually have absolute arse at QB. Most of these RBs were good players and played for real contenders when paired with a decent QB.

McFadden was fun to watch.

Barkley - 8 yr career/8.3k rush/2.6k rcv'g
Fournette - effective 6 year career/4.5k rush/2.2k rcv'g
Cmac - 11 year career/7.6k rush/5.4k rcv'g
E. Elliott - 9 year career/9.1k rush/2.7k rcv'g
Todd Gurley - 6 year career/6k rush/2.2k rcv'g
Trent Richardson - 5 year career/2k rush/900 rcv'g
CJ Spiller - effectively 6 year career/3.4k rush/1.5k rcv'g
Darren McFadden - effectively 8 years/5.4k rush/2.1k rcv'g
Adrian Peterson - effective 16 year career/14.9k rush/2.5k rcv'g
Reggie Bush - effective 9 yr career/5.5k rush/3.6k rcv'g
on average, you're looking at about an 8 year average career (half of an elite DE) and 5-6k rushing yards. I don't think the draft capital investment is worth that kind of return for a guy that is probably going to another team after his first 5 ears anyway. (Bush).
They aren't core pieces to spend a top 10 pick on when you consider how much you have to pay a DE compared to them ($30-40mm per season vs. $12-20mm)
go sign breece hall or etienne and spend the capital elsewhere

They have to get that bell cow RB and they will address the Oline in FA with likely 2 starting guards.
Chicago went crazy in FA for their Oline, and they are of the best rushing teams in the league. Problem is, it's slim pickings in FA this year for Oline.

Draft the best available but yeah I’m here for love

Slim pickings at most spots this year in FA. HB, TE, and interior DL are where the depth is (which usually means where the value can be found).
QB and DE have a lot of aging vets, but I don't think we chase either (unless finding a good, young DE somehow).

Maybe I'm crazy, but one high quality guard in FA is probably enough assuming we draft one or two.

I think we only need to sign one in FA if we go the $10mm type player

Depends what type of back it is. If you project Love to be the elite of the elite, you consider it.

The comparison to Jahmyr Gibbs raises my eyebrows plus love’s size
Posted on 1/6/26 at 5:01 pm to ned nederlander
You could group in Jahmyr Gibbs there at 1.12 as well

The guy out of Buffalo is the top target he’s legit.
Other than that the next 3 are likely better than what we have maybe by a large margin.

Yea thought about doing top 15 to add Gibbs and Melvin Gordon I was actually impressed by the hit rate. once you get past Trent Richardson, most top 15 RBs are pretty decent to great.
There a quite a few dogs drafted late first round though. That seems a spot where good teams really do get cute and reach on luxuries.

I have very mixed feelings about this, but it may be a swing worth taking. I don't trust Mickey, but I do trust KM
