Personally I rather trade Olave .

He's due a big contract and he's already had several concussions.

If we can really get atleast a 2nd and a 3rd for trading both then I'd rather that. We have to pay Shaheed soon too. That also tells me Olaves value starts at atleast 1 2nd minimum. Cooks for a 5th would be awesome too. Then you still have JJ, Hill, Ruiz, Yiadom, and 2 (5ths) to try and get more low picks.

Loomis would probably trade Shaheed to Payton for a 7th

I don't disagree, but guys wanna be paid and there's a lack of #2s around the league.

It's why Christian Kirk costs 18mil a year. Some team is gonna say that. Which is why I ask the question of paying sheed #2 money or pay olave high 2, low 1 money.

Neither, but you have to pick one it's olave.

Are you fricking joking or just this stupid?

Trade for vele and give up a high 4th(top 102 pick) to then trade Shaheed for let's say pick 130.

That is horrible management.

This morning on Get Up, Schefter said the Saints are trying to get a 3rd round pick for Shaheed. Specifically talked about the Bills, so that would be a late 3rd rounder if it’s them.

This franchise can't stop from making crushing, bad decisions.

It's the best bad decision. You can't keep Shaheed.

he had 41 receptions in 13 games. I think we are the systematic problem. Not really vele.

It is a gamble on Vele panning out but you're ignoring the money aspect of it. Shaheed is going to make 5 times what Vele is.

There’s definitely truth to that. But just like you can see what Shaheed’s value is and Olave’s value is, you can see where Vele stands.

all 3 have different contractual situations which greatly affect the value in a trade.

Trade for vele and give up a high 4th(top 102 pick) to then trade Shaheed for let's say pick 130.
That is horrible management.

1) On the surface you are correct, and I'd also like to keep Shaheed.
2) You are not accounting for the financial aspect. We are a team with a lot of talent needs & cap relief. We cannot keep everybody that we'd like, financials aside, and still be able to actually pay them.
3) It depends on how we hit on the draft picks. If we get a 3rd and select a WR would you be upset or happy if in his first 4 years he has the same stat line as Shaheed listed below? Now consider we'd only be paying him maximum average of $1.5M/yr on a rookie contract versus $17M+ that Shaheed will likely get and will have to greatly increase his current production, like his best season thus far would have to be his absolute floor to not be considered a terrible contract.
4) You are gambling just as much on Shaheed taking a big step up in the future as you are of Vele not panning out. Though I do give you that Shaheed statistically is on pace for his best season barring injuries, and we have not properly utilized Vele.
5) Statistically, prior to 2025, they are not as far apart as people think.
6) 2025 & beyond we have to figure how to best utilize them both. Shaheed should not be averaging just 11.3ypc unless he's going to be your trusted blanket to get open type WR1 and replace Olave. Vele halfway through his 2nd season cannot only have total what amounts to essentially 1 game of production from his rookie season. Both of these issues are on Moore in the same way that we are not using Kamara & Hill properly.

Vele
2024: 41rec/475yd/3TD
2025: 5rec/39yd/1TD

Shaheed
2022: 28rec/488yd/2TD
2023: 46rec/719yd/5TD
2024: 20rec/349yd/3TD
2025: 44rec/499yd/2TD

They’re two washed players especially Hill.
