The 2021 Tundras with the old drivetrain and lowish miles are like gold if you can find one

I agree that the older Tundras are reliable and great. But the failure rates within warranty on the Fords, GMs, and Rams are probably less than 5%, maybe 2%. The access to internet has just really amplified the noise when folks do have a lemon. It might cost $40k+ to get one of those low mile, 2nd gen Tundras. For $50k you can get a new Ford, GM, or Ram, then add an extended warranty to it for a few grand. And even without that, you’ve got ok odds to drive it 10 years, 150k miles no problem. I think the internet has overrated, overstated reliability. The average lifespan for cars has done nothing but go up over time. Seems like covid disrupted that, and the emissions regs, but it’s not to the extent the internet makes it out to be.
I think I agree with this. A lot of people don’t follow the maintenance schedules for transmission, diff or engine. They’ll bitch and moan about reliability but never done a transmission flush and change engine oil every 15k miles

That is a little more than I was looking to spend. I also do not want black leather. That is what I have now. Thanks, though.

The TTV6 and hybrid makes impressive power. They’re getting 457hp and 583lb-ft out of them in the Lexus configuration.

As someone cross shopping all of the half tons, I’m appalled at how basically all of them seem to be overpriced unreliable junk.
Also shopping right now and it’s depressing how every brand is having some sort of major issue right now. I guess the F150 is considered the “safest” newer half ton but that ten speed transmission sounds like a ticking time bomb.

BS. I have a 22 gmc sierra. The engine went out at 54k. That was unheard of 20 years ago.

Tundra would be nearly last on my list if I were currently in the market. Looks ridiculous, but there are bigger problems with Toyota these days.

Ford always.
Yeah, because the V6 used in the gas F150 has only been in production since 2009. But yeah, all brands have "issues." More like you have issues doing research that's not from message boards or the retards you eat boudin with at the gas station every week.

I traded in a 2020 ram 1500 5.7 hemi bc of the etorque issue. Cant get parts, was sitting for a month. Got a 2026 tundra limited and very happy with it. Sure there are some things i liked about the ram better, but tundra pulled boat great and gas mileage has been better.

Google it. Theres nothing but plots of the average lifespan going up, pretty much linearly. Due to better materials and more precise manufacturing. Lemons have always existed, sorry if you got one.
Edit: and that definitely wasn’t unheard of.
