Drove past this leaving the LSU baseball game. The burnt up car was on the flatbed and motorhome still hadn’t moved in hours. People for two miles back were sitting in lawn chairs parks. Long investigation

I drive 12 from robert to Slidell and back everyday during the week. The stuff I see most days amaze me. So people have no regard for their life or anyone else's with the way they drive.

They got up this morning, dressed, ate breakfast, kissed or had small talk with the people they love, said their goodbyes (maybe) and before the sunset they were dead.
Prayers for the dead and their families.
Think.

You never know who's in the car beside you or the condition they're in. That RV didn't have a chance. And if the car they're following suddenly veers out of they way they not have even seen it coming.

That motorcoach looks like the ones rock stars use when touring.

Not sure exactly why that area is so deadly. I know the sun glare can be pretty bad in the mornings some time of the year.
I think it just comes down to people tailgating each other at 80+ mph who don’t think a deadly accident can happen to them…until it eventually does. And then it changes the way you drive forever. Just hope that accident doesn’t kill you. Or worse, you kill someone.
RIP to the deceased

Yeah, I was headed to Denham Springs, and was about five or six cars back and came up on the scene just after it happened. From talking to eyewitnesses out there, the vehicle with three passengers, was heading the wrong way down the exit ramp on I 12 at the Springfield/ Albany exit. They slammed straight into the RV and pretty much immediately caught on fire. It was amazing how quickly the fire started and spread. People were jumping out of their vehicles trying to help, but the car was engulfed in flames almost immediately. The folks in the RV were obviously shaken up, but otherwise uninjured from what I gathered. We sat there for about 4 1/2 hours before the scene was cleared. Pretty tragic situation and obviously whoever was driving must’ve been pretty wasted, or suicidal.

Why? It's a flat, GD straight road. People are dumbasses.
It’s mostly when peoole are cruising along in the left lane and an 18 wheeler doing 71 cuts someone off to pass another 18 wheeler going 70. It’s causes a chain reaction of everyone slamming on their brakes. Then some hero has to try and get 2 cars ahead so they drive recklessly. A lot could be prevented if 18 wheelers were restricted to 65 mph and right lane only.

You've never seen that in your life. GTFOH. This is always about random way above speed lane changes

Last time I drove this stretch a pickup truck ahead of me lost a tire off his trailer that was bouncing down the middle of the interstate at 75 mph. I have no idea how everyone avoided it and it didn't cause a major accident. That stretch of interstate and I45 between Houston and Dallas are death zones.

Very fortunate they were in a Prevost.
They are the only Class A that is built like a tank, and they are engineered from the ground up as a million mile vehicle. The price reflects that, but if you must drive a Class A, this is the one to own.
That said, it was an offset crash for them, so they were very lucky, so to speak.
