Always had a soft spot for these and the idea to get one of 'em when I retire:
Just to tool around in with the top down during the months when the weather is good, and to drive over to Florida for those beach vacations.
This particular one is listed at just under $23,000.
I think if I got one; I'd paint it flat sand and put the spare on the hood like an old Kubelwagen:
Heck just looking around, this one (which is almost exactly what I'm talking about) went for just over $24,000 recently:

My dad had a '85 diesel 5-speed Maxima. Really, really well built and nice car with insane gas mileage.

I've heard nightmares about the general maintenance and repair costs for Aston's. It is a beautiful car though.

I see I’m getting down votes for my 996 post from the Porsche purists that probably hate the headlights. LOL
996.2 headlights are the best part of the 996. They look sick as hell.

72 was the first year of the decompression engines
The drop in compression actually started a year earlier with the 71s on Corvettes.
The 70s were between 10.25 and 11.25 and the 71s dropped to 8.5 and 9.0
No surprise, power across the board dropped as well and it got worse in the coming years.
In 72 you had two options (plus the base) engine for Corvette compared to the 7 different options available in 69. The dark ages of power from the manufacturers were approaching quickly.

Early Broncos (66-77) used to be affordable prior to Ford bringing them back in 2021 that is just a Jeep with a blue oval and ecoshit engines. They have a huge aftermarket but demand for them shot through the roof and now nothing is cheap if you want to restore one. I bought one in 2023 that was non running and have spent a small fortune getting back to driveable status.

The XK120s at that price need a lot of love. A good one goes for more like $100k.
Interestingly a lot of cool cars from back when are cheaper now becuase everybody wants a vintage truck. LIke thats fine with me. That stingray in the first pic is way cool.

Where were you in December?
I sold that exact car. Blue, 1964, 230 SL, to a guy in California for 35k.
Picked it up on a flatbed. It was a daily driver.

Legit street raced one. He was modified, I was in a modified Camaro. Dude pulled the wheels 3’ and I am like “I am fricked” …lol I was actually pulling but ran out of time. 383 stroker with 220 shot of nitrous. Beautiful car.
Usually drive my Accord. But I have a modified ZL1 that’s pretty quick.
