Don't ever mention that a good diet and exercise can overcome a majority of the things that people are on meds for.

Hell, you'd be surprised what you can get away with in terms of diet if you just lead an active life with exercise and movement.

Yeah but still you should try to eat as healthy as you can and you can get away with that more when you are younger. Yeah at least one of the 2.

I take a daily barrage of supplements, but no prescription meds. Had to pop into the doc-n-the-box for a sinus infection. Doc asked me three times what medications I was taking. She didn’t seem to believe me.

Part of the reason I got into this field was bc of the overprescribing. From a psychiatric perspective, I have new patients that have no clue what they’ve been taking. They just take it bc someone told them to. In my short experience in this field of prescribing, there’s a few things I’ve picked up on. 1) a lot of these psychiatric issues occur bc of terrible parenting and abuse/trauma as a child. It’s staggering. There are so many dead beat parents that are more consumed with entertainment than raising their kids. 2) pharmaceutical reps are in the office all the time, and they don’t come empty handed. They bring food, coffee and host events that are free for the prescribers. Most of the research is given by pharma so it’s slanted to be pro drug. 3) someone mentioned about not viewing the body as a complete system instead it is compartmentalized. Very true. When I get a new patient, I try to get as much baseline data as I can. I’ve found that something simple as vitamin D levels could be the culprit or lack of sleep or intense stress due to recent event. Unfortunately, many prescribers are in a system that banks on seeing the most people they can. The solution is not easy. You have patients that want quick fixes, prescribers that are loaded down with cases, and employers who want more money.

If you notice, everyone walks around with a list of what they have (anxiety, Attention disorders, etc etc) but then you realize a minute into a conversation that these people just want to feel like they are special because they have some thing that a doctor told them they have. So they pop pills left and right and still act like Aholes. But now the new thing is, therapy. You’ll be hard pressed to find a 30 year old or younger not in therapy.

Therapy is probably a much better alternative than drugs tbh lol. That’s not a bad trend IMO.

They need geometry, trigonometry

i agree with most things you said but....people that are going in the trades are not taking trig, thats fricking laughable

most that are going in the trades will take

algebra 1, geometry and some form of financial math and statistics as for their four math classes

and they do offer the classes you mentioned.

It's not only between Doctors and Big Pharma, it's the fact that 2/3 of our Congress receives Big Money from Big Pharma, every year. That's why Covid, or Monkey Pox, or Bird Flu will never go away, too much money to be had. It's the biggest racket of our lifetime.

SCAMS
1. Covid
2. Ukraine
3. Global Warming
4. Green Energy

Everything is a condition now. Everyone is also on the autism spectrum now. Some pretty normal behavior or 'quirks' are "signs of autism" now.

Yeah it's disgusting. When you rely on a drug to fix all your problems you don't learn how to deal with them properly.

It's dependence 101. I have a friend who is so addicted to Adderall the dude is completely incapable of functioning without it. And he's not even prescribed.

Exactly. Parents and teachers are lazy. No child should be on these meds. If truly needed, then the child needs to be old enough to understand and also able to communicate how they make him or her feel.

Cigarette companies purchased food companies. Our food is poisoning us and is made to be addictive. People are turning to pharma for a “cure” when pharma is just selling them more poison. The cure is eating clean and exercise. It’s really simple.

Agree with all of this but eating clean isn’t that simple. The American food system is totally corrupted. Many of our farm products come to us from the field covered in glyphosate and other bad stuff.

My son was out on ADHD meds for years because they said he needed them to focus better at school. After a few years and continued shitty grades I forcefully yanked him off of them. His grades are still shitty. Shocker. He’s just lazy.

Doubt they ever get off of them

Uneducated post, and that's being kind.

Wait until the one that you love beyond all human understanding is lying sick, and the only thing giving you hope, besides prayer, is the educated medical community of doctors and nurses.

There may be doctors that are in it for the buck, but I haven't met one yet, and I've never met one that would prescribe any medication to make a buck.

Every person on this board can a write a story about a doctor or nurse coming up with a solution, and maybe a few will miss the mark, but most won't.

I won't even go into all the foreigners I've seen come here for medical treatment (yes, Canadians, too) b/c they have means and they want the best care in the world.

Have a great day.

I don't have an employee that isn't on some type of anxiety med.

I have a difficult time understanding it. All late 20's to early/mid 30's. All their significant others are medicated to.
