The few I went to had ribeyes or prime rib with potatoes, salads, rolls, etc.. They weren’t buffet style but you could go through the line more than once. They were always good time.

Best DU banquet(s) ever were held in Wilmot, AR.
I’m pretty sure the building only had electricity for that one banquet each year.

My parents were members back in the day. The Texas state convention was held in Galveston one year and my dad won the major raffle of the night and had his choice of some really nice shotguns, or a Chesapeake Bay Retriever puppy. Myself and my brother did not give him an option lol

DU had a big part in ruining duck hunting down here.

In Tiger Stadium? How many people will be there?
80,000. But most will leave at halftime.

Banquets are a good time, but they will never get another dollar from me. Screw them for what they did to Louisiana duck hunting.

They’re having one this weekend in Tiger Stadium. I’m wondering what kind of food they serve and is it buffet style. And how long it usually takes?
They have slutty looking trashy wannabe models that hold up all the items at the auctions and walk around and flirt with you to get you to buy raffle tickets

When they see an old codger with his wallet out its game on.

The girls selling the raffles wore bikinis and all the drunk hunters spent a lot. I guess all the wives wised up because now they tag along with their husbands :lol. No more girls in bikinis

Yes, because it couldn’t possibly be any other number of factors that contributed to poor harvest numbers. It’s obviously solely the fault of DU.

Take the D out and read it. Not true. They do a ton of stuff all the way down to the Gulf coast.

Anyone been to a Ducks Unlimited banquet?

Yes, many times. Those in my area are usually late summer when I am jonesing for some duck hunting. It is always a great time and totally focused on ducks. You can win some really cool shite, if you drop a few bucks on raffle tickets.
Go and have a good meal and enjoy yourself! Attending one in the south stadium club would be cool as hell!

Some are really fun, some are kinda lame. All depends on the organizers at the chapter level. We have one around here that has a caterer that is really awesome and some decent prizes. I used to go alone but started bringing my wife and son. I'd see if you know some local attendees from the past that recomend or not.
We have anotehr one an hour away. I went once and it was kinda lame. Then the same four guys won all the games. Everybody there was murmuring that it was rigged and the chapter officers were giving the guns to their friends.
Finally I happened to be in Birmingham when they had an event at Good People brewing and it was a blast. Beer, cigars, good food... if you are in BHM I recommend.
