We are probably missing the rest of the story. There is a reason the principal did this. Probably she intends to teach the black classes and not the white classes in order to reach racial equality. I can almost guarantee that’s what she is up to. Wait for the rest of the story to come out.

It's okay to segregate if you are black. They have their own news, schools, entertainment, clubs, dating sites and newspapers.

I don't necessarily think it's the best thing to separate along racial lines, but individual choices without coercion are fine with me.

You would be surprised how many black people opposed de-segregation. By all accounts Bogalusa had a great "black" school system. You'll never convince me that de-segregation was meant for anything but destroying black pride and black communities.

I have some questions.
1) What exactly did the principal think would be better about this system? Why did she do this?
2) What's the socio-economic makeup of this school zone? I assume it's majority white, but it is poor, middle class, white, lots of immigrants, etc?
3) What was done with non-white kids who are also not black? Or was it white vs BIPOC?
4) How were the hundreds of other parents in this school - black and white - ok with this?

Fine, segregate them. But when the black kids are still failing at a significantly higher rate than white kids and showing no improvement, who else is going to be left to blame?
