I moved away from Austin last April. Outside of Comedy Mothership there is zero reason to go to dirty 6th anymore, especially after like 11pm.
This guys account has been growing for years because this literally happens every night

I know an Austin cop. Used to train Jiu Jitsu with him. Former Marine and really squared away.

I think this forum may believe this is the only bar area in Austin of which there are plenty. This one has always been the not nice one

There’s a texas street fights YouTube page that films a lot of them with good cameras. Their whole page has HD footage

used to be a cool place, couldn't pay me to go there again
I was there last year and it’s nothing compared to Portland.
I’m going back in March. My cousin lives there so I’m going to go and enjoy the lovely weather that time of year and get out of the rain for a few days.
I was just in downtown Portland for the 1st time in a long while, I avoid it but couldn’t this time. It’s a god damned shite hole. A flipping ghost town. Homeless junkies everywhere. Weather was gloomy AF.
At least Austin has bbq and nice weather in March.

6th street brawls always filmed in HD and decent camera work.

Nope. Long Island.
That said, you wanna make good coin, be a NYC cop. Long Island is even better, salaries are listed in the 150 range but they all double that sitting on the side of the road doing overtime.
LINK
But don't be a f**k and assault adult performers. Congratulations on losing your pension.
Olsen, a 2010 graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, who made $257,000 last year, pleaded not guilty to a charge of menacing with a gun at his arraignment, court records show.
I know a lot of people who met their spouses at work (I am not talking cop work, just work work, I have nothing to do with police work). Maybe they were cool about it did not do anything while in the same place or something and whatnot, but two NY Cops married doing overtime can earn half a million dollars a year. Problem is, who watches the kids and how long can yolu keep up doing double shifts without a divorce in the making?
Figure it out, still a good deal IMO if that is your thing.

Austin police are the highest paid police in the country, right above NYC. I read that somewhere.. So if anyone wants to be a cop Austin is where its at.
That can't be true. Those guys don't do anything.

Actually we are both wrong. I read that Austin police were the highest paid in the US awhile back, it must have been from some bullshite source.
The San Jose Police Department in California has the highest median salary for police officers, earning approximately $145,340 per year. This figure accounts for the area's high cost of living as well.

Having been in in both downtowns in the past year, Austin was worse to me. Particularly that the scary parts extend to the doorsteps of many of major hotels/conference centers.
