I know someone from that dirty coast probably doesn’t have much experience traveling outside the south but this is our 18th year in a row going to the Caribbean the last week of June/1st week of July and this is the 1st time it’s been an issue.

Our trip can also be rebooked completely for $150 so it’s not that big of an issue. I’d just like to know sooner rather than later.

But go ahead still being an arse posting about my vacation plans instead of the actual storm

Awww, that's so cute. Here's the kicker...I purchased my house in Grapevine for the purpose of travel out of DFW airport. Unfortunately, travel is one thing I do extensively. My miles are stacked. Had me a little Baja Mex Grill and La Hacienda Ranch last week. I even get to your neck of the woods quite often. Happy you bought the insurance....never know what may crop up. ;)

A weather station at Grenada airport recently reported a sustained
wind speed of 92 mph (148 km/h) and a gust of 121 mph (194 km/h).

I'll say it again, find out the manufacturer of the weather stations they have. Even Grenada has weather stations that can survive major hurricane winds, yet the majority of ours can't.

It doesn’t appear that it will be a direct threat to the northern Gulf, though it may increase the surf and rip current risk there.

That’s more of what I meant. Since models are mostly in agreement, I’m not as much concerned with the tropical wind action but moreso from ancilliary wave action on the northern gulf.

It wrecks Cancun with a high end cat 3 on the latest run, and it is still the northernmost landfall on the YP.

Seems like with this post and your posting yesterday that half of the metrology guys online were saying a Texas/La hit(or something like that), you kind of wish cast a little bit.

I mean thats what they were saying. Rds has hinted at that scenario being likely multiple times in this thread. Also the model that has been the most consistent is also currently predicting that outcome also
