When was the last time there was a quake this strong? 8.8 is hard to fathom. I mean, in that video, shite doesn’t jsit fall over, it’s hurled across the room.
What caught my attention was the duration of the quake. Those videos are violent for 1-2 minutes. Can't imagine actually witnessing one of those.
I'm one of those weather freaks that have always wanted to witness a tornado/ earthquake/ tsunami. But I'm also smart enough to know that I'm glad I haven't.

My buddy and his gf are on a cruise in Alaska, east of Prince Whales Island in a canal right now.

This is the strongest since the Japan earthquake that caused the tsunami that took out Fukushima in 2011, I think.
Looked it up that one was a 9.0 or 9.1. So, this one isn’t quite as strong. Still a monster quake though.

If you're on Xwitter you can follow (and set notifications from) the National Weather Service Portland. They will provide updates, as will the Seattle office.

Having been in a strong earthquake in Alaska and being an almost lifelong Chalmation. i am shocked they could even think about their phones in those moments.
Its rough to think about anything except "holy shite am i going to die"

Well, you have to consider that, on top of the fact there is a 8.8 earthquake happening, they’re also most likely quite hammered because they drink vodka like we drink water.
