Unpopular take but he has better songs than Elton John
Perhaps don't know but I do know he outperformed him. I sat near front row to see Elton open for him in 2001 and Billy was far superior.

I'm sure he feels the same way about your posts. Which one he liked is a mystery, though.

You think he GAF about one of your opinions. Doesn't keep you from puking all your thoughts out around here, does it? My post was to simply reinforce the fact that NOBODY GAF about what songs you do, or do not like. You posting your retarded takes 24/7 is the bizarre behavior that should be addressed.

Sadly, he was one of only a handful of the truly legendary solo artists still left

I realize the running joke is to dismiss a lot of his 80s stuff because most of his most iconic songs were from the 70s but his 80s stuff was solid as well.

This one "Downeaster Alexa" from 1990 may be one of his most underrated in my humble opinion

was that before “Uptown Girl?”

That was one of the first cassette tapes I remember owning.

That song was pop but there were some classics on that recording. Innocent Man, Leave a Tender Moment, Easy Money…

I suspect there was pressure from the label to keep the commercial fodder coming, seems like that happens a lot when they get their “retirement” contract

Storm Front is a great album. Released in 1989.

Yes. Also Glass Houses and The Nylon Curtain, both early 80s

Half the songs we’re talking about are 50 yrs old. I promise you in 30 years Billy Joel will be on the radio and whatever TF you listen too will be long gone.

Yes!!! Gives me goosebumps everytime.

I got bills to pay and children who need clothes...

That line hits home for a lot of people.

But my favorite-

So if you see my downeaster Alexa
And you work with the rod and the reel
Tell my wife I am trolling Atlantis
And I still have my hands on the wheel.
