Saturday. It probably wouldn’t make for a bad day trip. WP has a shite load of public access water if you’re into that sort of thing.

It can’t possibly have as much public access water as the Bayou parishes like Terrebonne and Lafourche.

I hope they consulted Carnival about restricting certain behaviors before opening.
Otherwise.....

Sonny's Pizza (if still open)
The crappy golf course
The air stinks from the paper mill

If it’s like every public park in Texas there will be 500 Mexicans pulling in every Saturday Sunday morning.

I'm sure you're right. I guess I was speaking more to folks on the northshore looking for an easy day trip.

Look at a Google maps satellite view of the area and you’ll see drastically different colored lakes. We have one in the area that’s an older quarry, spring fed and is blue like that.

So I’m looking at all this on Google maps. Had no idea anything like these lakes existed.

How did they come to be? What were they quarrying in that area?

There's a grocery store on South Columbia where you can get a smoked chicken leg and grapes for lunch. Good and cheap.

Isabel isn’t Bogalusa. I grew up just a few miles from there and yes, you can smell the paper mill from time to time. Glad to see they’re doing something with all the old silica ponds out there.

It’s kinda crazy how many Airbnb and vacation type places have popped up in North St. Tammany/South Washington Parish recently.

Also I’m first to shite on Bogalusa, but it’s just as much in Covington or Bush as Bogalusa

I wasn't complaining about the cost.

How hot was it considering there is no gulf breeze?

In the water felt great (go 10ft off the shore and water was crisp), kayaking felt great had a S wind that was pretty strong that would carry people to the other side and watching them drunkenly have to realize and paddle back across the lake was funny.

The beach has a hill behind it where you park which cut the wind so hot on the beach. The cabanas have fans in them if you ever need to cool down. I’d bring an umbrella and tent

Won't they dry up eventually? Boga is close to here if you're traveling from Mars.

That's pretty interesting.
Is still an active recording studio?
