It's a rat with a bushy tail. If you locked 10 squirrels in a room together with nothing but a human corpse on the floor they would eat it down to the bone. They'd then start cannibalizing each other starting with the samllest and weakest.

This isn't new. We hinted them for sport when I lived there. We would commonly see ground squirrels eat the dead bodies of other squirrels. There regularly eat more flesh than tree squirrels. Worms, bugs, etc. They burrow for them.

I shot a massive nutria that was stealing my ducks and eating them. Damn thing would beat me to them when they hit the water. Looked like a damn retriever.
