Think about everyone in the US who has died of cancer, or dementia / Alzheimer's in the past 50 years. Then think about what things would be like if they had all lived to be 120 instead
My father is in his 80's and still gets up at a 5:45am everyday and works 40 hours a week. So did his father. He has great genes. If we can expand the age of human productivity and health through medical science then maybe we consider raising the retirement age.

We’ll let them know. Thanks for the heads up.

That is awesome. I applaud him.
You must understand that he is a rare exception, though. And he doesn't fit my description of being a "net drain on the economy."
We would have no choice but to increase the "retirement age", whatever that means in this era of no pensions.
People used to retire when they became pension-eligible. Not many companies offer pensions any longer.
Raise the age at which you can begin withdrawing from your IRA / 401K and filing for Social Security / Medicare.

Yea he is a rare breed .. My point is as we continue to improve the health and ability of humans to be productive at 65 plus we would have to also consider making adjustments to retirement age...that would start to address the economic drain issue which will definitely become an issue. But Im for medical science pushing that limit as far as the human body, mind can take it and adjust our economics accordingly. . Its a process though and as we expand the those limits there will always be folks that as you said will end up being a net drain as we make adjustments.

There's no money in cures.
This.
Twenty seconds of thought would show you that is false.
