Man, you really oughta move.

We have lots of dogs here. People pick up after them, and unless the dogs are old and harmless, they're always leashed.

That's been my experience everywhere I've lived.

Dog owners have always been worse as a group hands down.

Name me a cat owner that intentionally takes their cat to shite and piss in other people’s yards or at parks?

Name me any that leave their dogs feces sitting there for other people to step in?

The entitlement of owners is just as bad.

This is one of my biggest gripes of the dog owners in my area, most are pretty decent about picking up their dog's droppings but then you have the people that run with their dogs and don't pick up after them. My SIL thinks it is hilarious when we step in her dog's shite in the yard at her parent's house. Her response is usually "it's just poop, just wash it off."

Who has the weirder owners?

The cat people are better at minding their own business and generally just want to be left alone. The “adopt don’t shop” dog people could learn a thing or two.

In defense of the lady in the video, that whole situation was probably pretty scary. And of course the first half isn’t on film, so no telling what went on at first.

With the explosion of "emotional support" dogs (as opposed to legitimate service dogs), the crazies can now boldly leave their homes and go to restaurants, museums, stores/malls as well as take public transportation (including flying).

There are plenty of crazy cat people, but the balance w/ dog people is now almost level.

while I agree with the premise that people shouldn't bring their pets to stores, restaurants, etc., the reason no one brings cats to these places is because cats generally can't be trained to behave (their gonna do what they want to do), dogs generally can.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the animals being "behaved" and 100% to do with owners who treat dogs like children and not wanting to be separated from them. Not being able to go eat or meet other humans without having to bring your pet is sad. A cat is a cat and doesn't belong in those settings and neither does a dog but "that's literally my child".

It has nothing to do with the behavior of the pets and everything to do with the behavior of the owners.

They are pets and not actual human children. And the fact that needs to be said or explained is ridiculous.

We like to bring our GR to friendly places, usually outdoor beer pub type settings, he’s cute and chill, and most people either smile or ask to pet, some get really endeared to him, BUT I’m also always highly sensitive to him bothering anyone in any way and prevent even the slightest such thing. Keep him on a short lease literally.

Dogs being off leash is garbage. Any dog that will approach people regardless of size or stated temperament as in the infuriating “Don’t worry he doesn’t bite” as if that makes it okay that I have to trust some stranger dog. Assholes.

It depends on the dog and the establishment imo. If your dog can’t handle being in public or around people then you shouldn’t be bringing it anywhere. If you have a well trained dog, do I care if you have him sitting beside you outside at a coffee shop or an outdoor bar with plenty of room? Not really. But I also love dogs, so I can see why people who don’t wouldn’t like it. Inside restaurants or grocery stores is annoying and people shouldn’t be doing it.
