Ever tried a damp dryer sheet? That works well too no easy to keep in the car to wipe off if you run through a swarm.

Goop Off and hand sanitizer will work wonders. Finger nail is the single best tool to not scratch paint.
Being I have hand sanitizer and WD-40 I will try these next.

This stuff is excellent for bug removal, especially on plastics where they can be stubborn.

Use isopropyl alcohol…let the alcohol solvate the spot for 30-45 seconds then rub off.
You can thank me later

Finger nail polish remover has worked wonders for me. Learned that from a body shop owner.
Other than that, I think the only tip we haven't seen yet in this thread is to pee on it like a jellyfish sting.

I use them a lot. Has a place.
A clay bar safely removes tar, overspray, and tough contaminants, but it does not fix scratches. Its main role is deep cleaning and prepping paint for effective scratch repair products.
For scratches, I like Meguiar’s ScratchX 2.0. Combined with its drill attachment, it safely removes or reduces light to moderate scratches and swirls by leveling the clear coat. Unlike pen-style products that use fillers, its abrasive formula offers lasting results regardless of weather conditions.

What does it look and feel like?
Is it gummy like a glue, or more like an epoxy?
If it is gummy sometimes vegetable oil will remove it.
If it is hardened your thumbnail might work best, or a soft plastic scraper.

Have you tried heating it with a blow dryer?

The dryer can warm the substance making it much easier to remove.
I'm guessing it is tree sap.

It is hard and it is the color of dirt. I was shocked when I saw it, so I took it thru a car wash. It did not faze it. It is only on the driver's side and it is even on my mirror.

I tried an old bottle of Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 on the scratches with no luck. But I did not use a drill attachment. I need to get a new bottle to try.
My goal is first get the "stuff" off and then try to repair any scratches I made. My truck is a Chevrolet 2023 2500HD and it is too nice to have scratches on it. Most of the scratches are not really noticeable unless you look for them. Plus when I sell my travel trailer I will be selling the truck also.
