and O&M expense disparities between the two.

There's nuclear's advantage.
How so?

Question is, does that go away when you have to account for long term waste storage costs?
It’s an o&m expense

That's a future problem though. The next generation can worry about that while I get mines.

I’ve never seen any energy deal that didn’t include decommissioning and remediation expenses baked in to the model. They might exist, but they’re rare. Just like o&g.

We have reserve accounts that are setup for that and an administrator. Typically the servicer and a backup with a tertiary for mega deals.

Oh yeah, Im sure the remediation is never skimped and lowered due to "tons of research"
Would the only shortcut not taken in a major project.

What about in the case of bankruptcy? Who is responsible for decom and remediation then?
I ask because the project has had so many problems that they've filed for bankruptcy multiple times (most recently last month) and it has been largely non-operational since then.

The Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project is a solar thermal power project with an installed capacity of 110 megawatt and 1.1 gigawatt-hours of energy storage located near Tonopah, about 190 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Until now, Tonopah has been designated as a Dark Sky area, It attracts amateur astronomers from across the Western USA.
I guess we can kiss that goodbye.

quote:im sure it happens on some small ones but anything that’s going to the abs market which is basically anything over $200MM needs to withstand independent engineer and rating agency scrutiny. We have baseline assumptions and if we deviate it comes off the fmv on the securitization to make up the difference.

How much water does it take to cool a solar plant?
I will never understand all the hate for solar. Easy passive energy.

Whereas a small modular nuclear reactor typically produces 300 MW
SMRs are the future of energy but they're not exactly "modular" yet. It's almost just as expensive to build a traditional plant.

The movie has the usual tropes and stereotypes — evil white European mastermind, corrupt black military leaders, female environmental do-gooder, white savior played by Matthew McConaughey.

The servicer or backup. The reserve accounts survive a bankruptcy.

Didnt they just start disassembling one in California because it never generated anywhere near the power they claimed and it killed all sorts of wildlife?

these actually do need water because it uses mirrors to heat water in a tower and drive a turbine. I'm unclear on their water consumption vs nuclear. This is infantile tech at best.

Because it's been politicized.

It's interesting, both times Musk has been w Rogan and energy was touched on, Elon said all it would take is 110 sq/km in rural Utah to power the entire grid consumption of the USA. And he was dead serious. Im surprised he hasn't tried to experiment with it more in a place like rural Utah or New Mexico.

I'm nor for or against any kind of energy. They all have the +/-'s and they all have a place on the grid.

Probably a lot less if you mix in some prestone 12.
If your solar energy plant is overheating, maybe you should consider lunar energy.

See it when we drive to Vegas.
Seems other worldly. It's crazy yuge.
