High school, in the late 70's.

In college I had to actually work, for grades in a tech degree and to pay for it. Not alot of time for shenanigans.

But in high school I worked with my Dad at his business, a service station near a different high school.
- It was great working with my father every day, and in the company of other men (mostly part-time sailors / airmen in Chas SC). Great experience for a kid.
- One of the airmen had a South American pilot connection - I became a weed king for a while.
- Met all kinds of kids/girls from the other HS, we all started partying together.
- So many hot rods, street racers. I built my first hot rod. We had a race team for the Summerville dirt track.
- Skipping school and going to the beach. Had friends, money, weed, beer and a cool car. Not a care in the world.

8th through high school is a blur, but from what I remember I prefer it to college.

Both were lots of fun.
I used to think I had things to worry about back then. They were 8 fun and carefree years.

College.

In high school, I was Bobby Hill. When I arrived at college, the kid was now gone and I became a completely different human being.

Probably the dumbest thing I ever did was graduate college early.

Neither, felt I didnt get much out of either. Honestly.
Just wasted my time.

Not even using my degree currently, My fault but not all of it, just got too hard to stay employed in that field. Didnt even want to leave it. Didnt have the option.

But, My answer, Neither, wish I would have rather just followed my gut. My instincts were on and correct. Just the lack of execution and confidence, when I reflect on it.

I got laid first day of college. I got in a fight first day of high school.

College was infinitely better.

High school had a few good moments here and there but in hindsight academically it's a massive waste of time and money for anyone with a slightly better than average IQ. The sports were awesome but anything outside of that was pretty watered down and pointless for me.

I had to pay my own way all of college for tuition, books, car, food, cell phone, and insurance… which lead to a bit of homelessness during college so I’m going HS.

Playing sports in high school was hard to beat. The bus rides after a win was as good as it gets for me.

But in college I wasn't living under the same roof as my parents and that was liberating - so the overall college experience definitely wins out for me.

I had fun in high school and college. College is definitely going to win because you have freedom. But that doesn’t make high school any less memorable.
