re: Do you ever look out the window and see the moon and think how weird all of this is?

At any moment our doom could be hurtling through space. Nothing we say, or do, or think, could stop it from colliding with Earth. It's entirely possible it hits us so fast we don't even have time to contemplate or discuss it.

The moon, with very little gravity, can tug on the earths oceans and create tides. I still don't get how that's possible, with how small and far away it is.

And tell me that ONE feeling isn't more powerful than the looming pointlessness outside of it.
Because LOVE really is the greatest force in the universe.
Why does it have to be meaningless in the first place.
Why can't love be a clue?

Sometimes I wonder if Brandy is staring at the same moon.

I look up at all the stars at night and think man I love peeing outside.

I go outside when I want to see the Moon.

Kinda like Horton Hears a Who...who knows if the entire universe is just something inside of something else?

Monty Python said it well:

I watched a movie at spacecamp when i was 11 years old called Cosmic Voyage. I have not been the same since. It is absolutely terrifying how fricking small we are, and how little anyone actually knows and understands. I think about it almost daily.
It’s true that humans are a tiny part of the universe. Even if you put humans on every habitable planet in the universe, we’d still basically be close to 0% of the universe by mass. And you’re talking equally ridiculously small numbers when you compare our lifespans to how long the universe has and will exist.
IMO, that makes us incredibly special. We’re precious, frail, rare and will only be here for a finite amount of time. We’re capable of incredible things that the natural processes of the universe can’t do. For that reason, I believe we are of considerable value and that makes me feel grateful to be alive, even as a tiny part of a spectacular universe.
Just another way to think about it. Happy Friday!

Existential crisis? On a Friday morning? Time to go home at lunch fella

The permutations of the human genome means there will NEVER be another person like you ever to have been or be born EVER.
You’re uniquely special and only alive around 100 years.

I read something one time that the most grounding thing you can do is look up, but that most people only ever look down.
Think about a deer walking through the woods. Doesn't see the guy in the treestand, because it only ever looks down focused on the path it's on.
Have to look up and around every now and then.

Yes! A thousand times, YES!

I look at the Moon when it's especially cold outside and imagine astronauts hurtling toward it in temperatures over 400 degrees "colder."

Your bone marrow is producing red blood cells that keep you alive. Your white blood cells are attacking virus invaders as I type. Your gall bladder is helping your body digest life-dependent nutrients.
To name but a mere few.
You don’t even have to think about it.
Meanwhile, there is road rage happening somewhere. people are arguing over politics, and McDonalds just shorted someone a fry order.
Life is magnificent. Ignore dat at your own risk.

Imagine this:
The ground you are standing on is spinning a little less than 24000 miles per hour.
In addition to that, it’s shooting around the sun at 67000 miles per hour.
In addition to that, the sun is moving around the center of the Milky Way at 514,000 miles per hour.
In addition to that, the Milky Way is moving through the universe at 1,300,000 miles per hour.
Even standing still, every second you are thousands of miles away from where you were a second ago, and you’ll never be in that spot again.
