if you ask my kids, they would probably say "Focus on the task at hand", as I say this all time. Like entirely too much.
But we have a little sign that is above our back door that reads "Work hard and be nice", because that is the reminder for my family as we leave each day for work/school.

Yes.
Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do so with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.
It reads corny, but I actually live by this, and these days everyone is going through some shite. Being kind helps people more than you think.
