Mine gives like $500. Or they used to. We used to get $100 for every year of service.

Thank god they do.

It’s always ear marked for property taxes.

Ask the oil and gas bros about how this strategy worked out in Houston during the last crash in 2016. It always happens, and people that budget like you just build more and more debt.

Staff members get a "Christmas" bonus of 3% of their gross for the previous year so about 1.5 weeks of pay if they worked the entire year. Associates and junior partners get fixed year in bonuses that nobody considers Christmas-oriented, equity partners get year-end bonuses based on profit. Most of the attorneys give direct report staff an extra Christmas bonus out of their own pocket; it varies by attorney for a multitude of reasons. I match the firm's bonus which makes the math easy for me and sets reasonable expectations and prevents bickering.

I would get the mailman to check his vehicle and bag. It may have gotten lost in the mail.

It could be a Crystal Hot Sauce of the Month Subscription.

Yes always. An extra pay check the week before Christmas + a generous white envelope cash bonus.

Yes, but it is not called a Christmas bonus. It is in the form of cash paid out as a percentage of your salary based on some corporate earnings targets.

Generally turns out to be a pretty good sum of money every year.

Monetary bonuses. If the company has had a good year they are pretty generous.

Not a Christmas bonus per se, but basically a year end $200 plus a factor of how much the company stock price increases YOY. Total has been over $1K some years, and just a straight $200 in years that stock went down.

Spent a couple of years in management at the same company before going back to the technician side. They had a similar bonus structure, but it was 10x what the technicians get. Those were a couple of nice years, getting an extra 8 grand deposited in the bank.
