I've heard from several people that this same kid was kicked out of Bluff Middle School last year for bringing a pistol to school.

Yes, but didn’t bring it to school. Made posts on social media brandishing guns and making threats.

I’d ask “where are the parents and why would they let him still have access to guns?”, but there’s no point.

Kiran has now interviewed the mother

https://unfilteredwithkiran.com/my-son-called-fearing-for-his-life-student-spots-boy-with-gun-in-bathroom-notifies-parents/

quote:

The student told UWK he had been in the bathroom at the sinks when he noticed something suspicious.

“I washed my hands, and I started a conversation with somebody I knew in the restroom, and as I was conversating with him, I see out the corner of my eye this dude, and he pulled out his gun from around his chest area,” he recalled. “Then he pulled it and he started flashing around in the mirror. And then he started pointing around the restroom saying he had ops.”

According to the high schooler, “ops” refers to “enemies,” which is why he particularly got scared that something bad could happen.

quote:

“Then I just walked out the restroom, but my body got to shaking, and I felt like I needed to text someone so I called my mom,” he told UWK.

Plus, the student says he is on edge even more after his cousin was shot and killed in a Gonzales parking lot.

“My baby was in fear for his life, so he called me and text me, and I work overnight, so I didn’t get the text right away, but when he called, I knew immediately something was wrong, and he hung up,” she recalled. “So when he hung up, his dad and I checked our phones, and he kept saying, ‘Please, please, can y’all come get me? My life is in danger.'”

Valencia said she reacted instinctively and immediately stopped what she was doing.

“I dropped everything, and I called the school, and I was screaming and crying, and I told them, please go save my son.”

From there, the school officials put the campus on lockdown. The mother told UWK that administration was able to get her son and also locate the boy who had the gun. She stressed how quickly school administrators and deputies acted.

I can't remember when that shooting was. I thought it was in the late 80's.

1985 I was a senior.

I also worked the shooter’s shift at McDonalds as he wasn’t available to come in that evening.

The difference between private school and public school is the cost of the drugs…

Yeah, frick all the other kids. Don't notify the proper authorities, just call your parents for a pickup and let the other kids get shot

What makes you think he didn’t notify anyone at the school?

The kid that saw it in the bathroom called his mother and his mother called the school. My son is also a freshman there. My son’s friend was in the class when they came in and arrested the kid. The kid was a football player and a pretty good one. He had the loaded gun on him.

If he was in the bathroom and called his mother and she said I’m calling the school right now, then that seems appropriate.

But I don’t think we know that he did not leave the bathroom and also alert a school official.

I think the kid was pretty terrified after he saw the kid flash the gun in the bathroom and didn’t know what to do. From what I heard it was handled swiftly and correctly.

I thought Jeff Landry made it illegal for kids to have phones in schools?
