It's killing it here in Ridgeland. It benefits from being in an entertainment desert.
Unfortunately, the food service is REALLY bad.

I go ever couple of months. The food in BR is very good.

Without corporate "team building" events they wouldn't have even lasted this long.
My company banned Top Golf outings because concerned citizens kept reporting us for misusing ratepayer money by having Top Golf outings.

I'm a golfer and have never been to one. Never had any appeal for me at all. Had a vendor that wanted our shipping business about 10-12 years ago invite me and when I said I didn't have time he looked at me like I had turned down a trip to the moon.
Gotta love a golf douchebag.

You have to do that to keep out the crowd that will ruin it
I wish airlines would pick up the same business model

it’s no longer worth the price of admission.
I haven't been in a while, so I wanted to look up the pricing and see what it would come out to. I can book a bay for 6 people from 6-8pm this Thursday for $64.

I’ve been once but I just take my kids to the public course let them sneak in a few strikes and drive the cart and they have a lot more fun.

It was all the craze when there was just a few of them in major cities. Now there’s one in every town across America. Not sure what the long term allure is.
My kids do a sports tournament in Lafayette once a year. Last year it was a two hour wait to get in, we went somewhere else. This year it was us and like 2 other groups. Place was empty. Food was decent. Check was shocking.

It is being propped up by expansion.
So just like every other entertainment business venture ever.
They will stabilize and remain in big cities as they are basically just a bar with golf, so they will cater to big groups that want to get drunk and have a good time.
There will definitely be contraction.

The big venues will remain.

It’s like $40/hour for up to 6 people and the food is priced like any other sit down chain. Do some of you not go out in public?

Not really. It is expensive if you are going to try and use it as a driving range for yourself as a golfer. That isn't "what it is" though.
If you go Saturday at their early price slot with 4 people for 2 hours, it is $18 per person and you get a lot of shots in each. Even at night, it is still only $30 per person, and that is ignoring the different deals and stuff they have throughout the week and Sunday pricing.
I think they may have expanded too much, but the place itself really isn't that unreasonable. Food is fine, not spectacular, but there are some pretty decent items.

I'm a golfer and have never cared about going to Top Golf. Just doesn't interest me at all.

Me too, likely a better one than you. I can go and have fun because I know it’s not golf.

I enjoy TopGolf, and I really enjoy playing regular golf. It's just so damn expensive. And expensive without even eating/drinking. If a group of 4 goes, forget about just 1 hour, you have to get at least 2. Don't really know what they can do to drop prices, but they def need to think of something.

$20-$30/person for 2 hours. The same price as going to your local shitty Mexican joint for dinner

You can go on a Saturday at 11:30am for 2 hours for $98 total. That's $25 per person. If you go on a week night or when they have specials it's way cheaper. Is $25 per person for 2 hours on a Saturday that expensive to you?

If you go with 4 people for 2 hours, which is more than enough time, it’s like $30/person plus whatever food and drinks you buy. What are you doing for less than that?
And what about when those 4 people are you, your wife, and your two kids?
$200 outing.
If it weren't for birthday parties and corporate events, they wouldn't exist b/c it's too damn expensive.

This reminds me of the quote:
"No one goes there anymore because it's too packed with people."
That being said, if the contraction happens as some people here predict, I wonder what the hell they will do with the sites? It's not like it is a normal building you can convert to some other function.

It was inevitable
But it's still probably the leader in the category and the best executed/least cheesy (escape rooms, axe throwing, etc.)
