After hearing about the people in the Southdowns area being without power for a month after 2008 hurricane Gustav, I told my wife we are getting a house with no trees and underground power lines

We were out 8 days during Gustav. My boss was 21 days. We had a 2 yr old and 4 yr old too.

Us, too - we only had the big three kids then - they were 5, almost 3, and 1 1/2 years

The oldest kept asking to go back to school - I guess she thought they’d have a/c

My poor wife. She was home with the kids sweating and I had to work. We had a generator at the office. I'd get them to come up there everyday and stash them in an unoccupied office

I cut up a tree that got knocked over in a recent storm and mowed the yard this morning and lost 5lbs.

My dad and I just got into my attic to unclog an A/C drip line. Holy hell it must have been 160 degrees up there. The main floor of the house feels like a refrigerator now.

This is why a Generac should be in the Louisiana state flag.

Put a little Drano down the PVC drain if he didn't blow it out with compressed air.

Days like this week just makes me pray we don’t have hurricanes. I can’t imagine being without power right now.

I won’t even stay for a couple days without power, we always leave and have a neighbor let us know when it’s back on

I'm heading back from beautiful Tennessee with its heavenly views, low humidity and mild temps

It gets hot here too, but not as hot.

Not today though, currently 84 with little humidity. Low tonight is 58. Get some shade and a fan and it feels great.
