Small steel cage animal trap and a can of tuna.

Trap it and return it to the neighbor. Tell him the next time it climbs on your truck that you will not be returning it to them,

yeah great idea I don’t want the cat on my property in the first place, so let me go interact with it when I should be sleeping because like most normal people, I work, and it totally makes sense to make the thing I don’t want on my property like me.

Just curious, what is the cat actually doing that bothers you? Leaving footprints on your hood?
For me it would be the claws scratching the paint. Unless it’s declawed which I doubt a feral cat sleeping outside at night would be.

Yes I know - there is no sarcasm font - which is why I included the eye roll

Who the hell wants to play with a cat, especially at 1AM?

And Chad called ‘me’ the dingbat.

I've had plenty of cats on my cars over the years. I've never noticed scratching on the paint.

And if there is nothing about cats in the HOA bylaws

I have never seen an HOA bylay that did not have something in it about keeping pets indoors or leashed. But, they can do things like rebuke key fob access to public facilities like pools, stop trash pickup, etc.

About half who are assessed fines pay them and mitigate the issue so right there, there's a 50% chance the problem is solved without ANY intervention from the OP.

a few of the dumbass HOAs I have unfortunately been a part of only had ‘dogs’ as needed to be leashed or indoors/behind fences.

Which, I know is anecdotal, but that was at least 2 HOAs I am familiar with - and it was a big deal in one because we had a crazy cat lady

I mean to be fair, it was a pretty ludicrous suggestion. Playing with the cat and giving it catnip isn't exactly going to fix the issue, it's going to bring the cat around even more

Though kudos for using the word dingbat, very underrated insult.
