It's not that bad, but depends on where you live. Snow isn't all that frequent in PA or Ohio, but it's worse the closer you are to the east coast of a Great Lake.

Overall, it's way easier than having to mow the lawn year round

Shoveling snow compared to a snow blower is every bit as bad as shoveling dirt compared to having a ditch witch.

Shoveling sucks, regardless of the material. Snow is especially bad though because it can just start falling again from the sky, whereas when you shovel dirt, once the hole is dug, it's dug.

Depends how big your driveway is.

I live in Utah. It’s a chore, but doable. Lower back takes the brunt of it.

If you live in that area, why wouldn’t you have a blower? That’s like some one in La not owning a power mower but a but a push mower.

Considering buy an old shitty truck to just put a plow on the front.

It used to be you would see a ton of Dodge Power Wagons with the Sno-Commander package in the snow states.

I have lived most of my life in the ice belt which sux way worse than snow on a one-to-one basis.

It's just a little bit of a workout, and even less with a snow machine, or ATV/Skid steer with a plow.

Stayed at my FIL's house up north for a week and it was a pain even with a snow blower. Granted it snowed pretty much everyday I was there so that made it worse because that wasn't typical but having to wake up in the morning and shovel the driveway and side walk, scrape the ice off the windshield, the snow off your windows and blinkers etc got old real quick. And if you have any type of pick up you have to have a bed cover or shovel it out of the bed too.
And you can't just skip a morning on a weekend either because the concrete will turn into ice if not shoveled then you're really screwed. I can definitely see where people up north bitch about it.

It's a quick 30m bit of exercise for me. I have a thrower for when it gets really rough deep in winter, but not a huge hassle. I live on a corner though, so my sidewalk responsibility is a lot longer than most, but all in all not the worst thing in the world. Beats dealing with floods and torrential downpours

I grew up in a small town that didn't have a city snow plow, so the county would get to us when and if they had time. Nothing more demoralizing as a kid, then being on Christmas break, being inside and warm after shoveling, and seeing that plow come through.

The worst is the plow. You shovel and the plow comes down and fills it back in, or you wait for the plow and you are shoveling a giant mound.

If its powder, you can sweep a foot of it with a broom and feel no strain

You don't shovel every day lol. Here you just have to shovel driveway/sidewalk within 24hrs of the snow stopping. It's not bad when it's light and fluffy. It sucks when it's heavy wet snow in the Fall and Spring.

Used Toro 2-stroke snow blower is the way to go.

I grew up in the snow. Shoveling snow before school so your parents can get their cars out is not pleasant. Seeing your dad laugh as he finally buys a snowblower when you leave for college isn’t too pleasant either. But it gets funnier the older I get.

I too lived this exact story. Awesome that my mom had to be to work at 6 am. That was a great 5 am bang on my bedroom door.

Come home for T giving my freshman year and what’s in the garage? Shiny new snowblower

to have to shovel snow out of your driveway on a daily basis during the winter?

Listen up, buttercup, it's NEVER on a daily basis. Storm comes through , then you or your snowblower shovels. OR if you own enough land to design air flow, you have a snow fence that accumulates snow before it gets to your road.

This coming winter, follow a TV station in a place you might want to move to and mark the snows on a cullender.
