I don’t know what the solution is but something is going to have to be done. There were roving groups of n’er do wells all over campus. Openly smoking pot. It smelled like Woodstock all over campus. There was a brawl in the section next to us during the game. The Baptist Student building on corner of highland and chimes was hit by flying bullets. Can the National Guard work game days?
It's getting worse every game. Say something about it and immediately you are a racist.

Paddy wagons on standby for those with active warrants and new arrests. It can be fixed but it will require manpower and leaders who aren’t concerned about optics.
Kinda like the 60's and early 70's. Famous slogan from 1964 presidential campaign: "In your heart you know he's right."

Parked on a gameday lot down State Street. Walking back with a 12 year old was not fun. Highland from Chimes St north past McKinley looks like another world.

It’s just a matter of time before there’s mass shooting with innocent bystanders getting hit.

I am not sure what is going on, but campus in general is changing.
Check out the changes in enrollment demographics and you will find your answer.

And elect tough DAs and Judges.

People have to actually call LSU and email their complaints. Fussing on a message board does little.

The issue is these people now know enough students that they’re interested in being around the whole thing, and the culture is more accepted now

This is the first season I’ve really noticed it. We park east of Highland Road and walk through there on the way to the stadium. The Highland Road corridor is completely overrun with ghetto from south of the Union to the Chimes.
Now it’s several shootings in back to back home games.
If the people in charge of the University and athletic department don’t think this is a problem, they shouldn’t be in charge.
I don’t think we’ll be attending any more games until they clean this up.

LSU has become disgustingly ghetto and the bad thing is LSU does everything they can to promote and embrace it.

WTF. Is it always like this now? I've been trying to steer mine there, but might have to change my position.

BRPD needs to start treating the north gates the way they used to treat the Carlotta parties. Flood the area with cops and have the paddy wagon ready to go in the Circle K parking lot.

Yeah,
The crime is hurting the student enrollment and will most certainly hurt the ticket sales
I’ve talked to a few parents in the last 2 years who had graduating HC seniors, parents are hard core LSU grads and love the school. They will NOT allow their kids to go to LSU. All ole miss, bama, auburn.
Reason- crime and general cultural degradation.
I went to a graduation a few years ago and the “culture” was definitely different from what I recalled.
I hate to see legacies get derailed. It’s what makes schools special.

Went to the game yesterday and ran into an old buddy. He’s got one at Ole Miss and is urging the other to go to Ole Miss or Bama. What a fricking shame. When did my school turn into a shite hole?

Yep. 3rd generation LSU and I want my kids nowhere near that campus. Even with my parents have a condo for them to stay. They’d basically have to get a full ride for me to even consider it.
Live in Texas and I’d rather them got to A&M. Better school anyways. If not A&M then some place like Texas State.

This is what happens to a school when you get rid of testing and embrace "holistic admissions."

Some of these kids they have admitted this year have no business being on any college campus…
All true. I can’t really argue against you, but to this degree?
Those admission policies and lower standards open the door to a wide variety of potential problems, but on a smaller scale, or at least more incremental and not as visible to the general population.
A combination of factors have led to this problem. LSU’s location and the surrounding demographics is the main one, but campus was filled yesterday with people outside of Baton Rouge that had no intention of going to the game, and they weren’t the typical tailgaters. They came to campus for a party.
I don’t know if it was social media driven, or a coincidence that bunch of different groups converged on campus the same day.
It was like if you took everyone off of Bourbon Street that just walk around sipping on daiquiris, added them to the locals that overtake intersections for burnout parties, and put them on LSU’s campus. Then that attracted groups from smaller towns from all over the area.
