God I hate this in new vehicles.

It costs extra but it's the prettiest red to be found on a car.

Also choose the rotary engine option. Best engine out there!

My mom bought one yesterday. I was telling her to get a Rav4 but she liked the CX5 size and styling better. It's a pretty nice car. I just know little about mazda

Mazda 2.5l is one of the most dependable and economical drivetrains you can buy. Decade and a half of optimization in design and manufacturing. Direct inected so they have a different sound a little louder and sewing machine like. After about 100k miles you will eventually need to get the intake calves walnut blasted for.caebon buildup.

Phenomenal car. And don't let the radio and Car play screen not being touchscreen turn you off.

After a week, you will end up love that feature and the fact that it's not a touchscreen. I think it's one of the best features of the car

I have a 2016 Mazda 3 hatchback with 245k miles and zero problems. Its a zippy little car with good handling too, so it's been fun to drive. Averaged about 37mpg highway. I plan on driving it until it dies. I've been thinking about a CX-5 for AWD and higher clearance for forest road driving. About to change spark plugs, fuel filter, and belts for the first time, but have always kept oil and air filters changed.

My parents have maybe the CX7 or 9. They like it but think the seats are uncomfortable.

my '24 cx-30.....not so much.

Can you please expound upon this? I’m in the market for one of these for my daughter.

going from a 2010 3 hatch which was a relatively boxy vehicle to the squished down Cx-30 is an adjustment. visibility is way down. all the pillars are beefed up (for airbags I guess). the roof is like somebody sat on it. too low for me(5'10" at most) I go to an ATM and you cant get your head through the window because the door head is too low. The door itself now comes up to my shoulder whereas before was well below. Can't hang your arm out the window anymore but can't raise my seat any or my head's too close to the ceiling. Basically poor ergonomics due to smushing the roof down.

Engine wise, they've neutered a really good engine. The transmission will put you in 5th gear at 30 mph. So if you want an little oomph in acceleration, it has to shift down and down. Shouldn't be in 5th until 50 mph in my opinion. That is for the birds. You can manual shift or put in sport mode to avoid that. All done for fuel economy. nor more ZoomZoom.

I have the base model, but have no issue with the interior controls. (NO touchscreen. Yayyyy) Wish They hadn't cheaped out and omitted rear speakers though. Also no rear cover for the hatch compartment. that's extra now. probably needs a 12v plug in as well but that's nit picking.

all in all a nice car but not nearly as "sporty" as they would have you believe. very sedate and so far, no rattles or maintenance issues. except for the air bag recall, which I've yet to address.

Buddy recently bought a 2019 and likes it so far. I just rode in it last night. Nice car. I do like the Mazda styling.

I have been 'downsizing' and getting ready for retirement in a couple of years.

I have been a Toyota fan for years as they have the best, reliable vehicles out there on the market.

I have been looking at the Toyota RAV4. I have been looking at the Mazda CX5 and the CX9 as an option.

I am starting to lean more towards the Mazda. I have a little14-foot boat that I want to hook up to and go to the lake. It seems the Mazda has a better towing capacity.

I have a cx9 and like it a lot. The only drawback is that the seats are too firm and very uncomfortable.

I do not own one but I rented one for a week and was impressed with the features. Surprisingly it was a loaded out model that a was a a rental. I can’t speak to reliability thought.

We bought our oldest daughter a slightly used CX-30 for her first car and it’s been great. Very nice interior & fun to drive!

I put almost 240k miles in 6 years on my 2016 CX5. Zero issues, not even a burned out light bulb. I also had a 2008 Mazda6 that I loved. Again, zero issues. I currently have a 2022 Miata. I’m a believer.

I'll chime in on this because we also test drove this for our daughter. At 5' 4", I had major issues with blind spots and visibility, in general. Also, the ceiling seemed too low even for me.

The CX-5, on the other hand, is a great little car. A ton of bang for your buck on that one.

Daughter just paid hers off. Got it right bf lockdown. Not a lick of trouble and is a nice vehicle. When I move on from my 2016 RAV4 in a couple of years, I may look at Mazda.

Got a 2025 Carbon NA last November. Absolutely fricking love it. Has the superb 2.5 motor and an actual 6 speed transmission. Mine was 29.5k in Burleson Mazda

Note the new 2026 is 6 inches longer but sud away with button and knobs in favor of the iPad screen. Not a fan of it.

2025 models can be had for extremely good deals

Edit: Made in Japan!
