It's great marketing. Chik-fil-a owns the market share with much less locations.
I'm honestly surprised Yum! neglected KFC for so long while allocating a HUGE marketing budget to Taco Bell

If you ever had Gus' Fried Chicken you wouldn't want anything else.

Funny because Popeyes CEO used to be at KFC, and now the two brands are going in opposite directions. She engineered a rebrand and remodel in Popeyes stores and it has been paying dividends

The two chicken chains have been going in opposite directions when it comes to growth. KFC has closed over 600 stores in the last 5 years, including 127 from 2012 to 2013. Rejuvenated Popeyes, by comparison, opened 19 domestic restaurants just in the last quarter.

Different opinion here, KFC isn't failing but rather walking away. The U.S. health food craze hit them hard and the Asian market is growing exponentially. Popeyes and Bojangles are picking up KFC's scraps (not that this can't be successful) in the States while the Colonel is hedging their bets on Asia.

Interesting observation and one I was unaware of... I am guessing they have a "target" audience in mind with this commercial but I would be interested to know what that target is....
and what their thinking was ...

No kidding. Even out here in WA, we still have Popeyes. I'll take them over KFC. Hell, I'll take the stuff from the grocery store deli over KFC.

Great Marketing........or just plain Creepy?
I find them just strange as hell...however, I have to admit that everyone who hears them remembers the commercial and also which business ran them...
