Congratulations!! Sorry your wife did not make it. Hope you live long and reap the benefits of your work.

Congratulations man! It’s a wonderful feeling! 42 years with the same company and retired one year next month. Takes a few months to get used to it. Lots of Tubi and video games!

Congrats if that is what you want to do.
I tried it on for size and it wasn’t for me. Maybe it will be later I’ll see. Right now I enjoy what I do, have so much damn flexibility it doesn’t seem like work (most of the time) and make good scratch.
Time will tell if on the other side of 60 or 70 I feel the same. I know 48 was way too young to retire - maybe it was going from all out to nothing too quickly.

My last day at work! I have worked 41 years for the same company and calling it quits today. I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience this. Sadly, my wife did not.
Congrats! I’m 24 years with one company at 44 years old. Hopefully they keep me around for another 15 or 16

Congratulations! I've got 9 more years and I'm hanging it up.

Props to you! 41 years at the same company is rare so congratulations to you.
You started working in 85?

I plan on sailing into the sunset at 50.
Are you my ex wife? That’s what she did…sails into the sunset with half of everything, including retirement funds.

Congratulations! You're no longer a slave to the clock. Go to bed when you want, wake up when you want and just do things at your own pace now. Enjoy it man!

How many academy stores will you rob with your free time?

Congratulations. I am on a slow 7 year retirement plan. Next two years work as normal, figure out retirement finances with last kid graduating college this year, avoid stressful projects at work. Then the next five years after that I'll be slowing down at work to a part time position, traveling a lot and making sure we can live within our retirement budget. Then retire fully as long as all is going well.
More likely, something at work will piss me off and I will retire earlier than this plan.

Make better decisions on who you marry, or be a better husband. Simple question…do you have a tattoo? Answer honestly please.
I’m willing to bet $100 you have a tattoo.
