Think he'd do a lease to own?

Almost $600/ft? Pahahaha

Lol I wouldn’t give anyone 4.17 million for all of EBR

That may be accurate, but looking at the EBR assessors map there’s more to it than that. The 8500 assessment he’s been charged is for land only, it shows zero assessed and taxed for improvements.
Maybe all that is true, but why would Lipsey give a shite about his property taxes? I mean, he has an obscene amount of money, right? How much of a difference are we talking about here? What’s the difference in the properly accessed value and what it’s currently accessed at? Are we talking about a few thousand here for state taxes? I honestly have no idea about calculated taxes on a property of that magnitude.
$10,000 year? $20K year? Why would Lipsey, a substantial business owner and stakeholder in BR, risk the political and PR fallout from this for just a few thousand dollars?
I know, you don’t get rich by throwing away money but it seems like a pittance to a man of his means.

Frame of reference. I own a 2/2 1,100 sq ft condo in Chicago and pay right around $6k per year in property taxes

Basically, this means his property has not been reassessed since it was forested land outside of city limits. Probably does not even have any structures on the assessment.

Call him up and let him know that he hadn’t been paying his fair share for years. He’ll probably write the sheriff a check the next day for the difference.

Surely this would be worthy of a news story by our local news media

You are woefully naive if you think this dude didn't know that his property taxes were dramatically undervalued.
Better together, right??

Mine is easily overvalued by 30-40k this year.
Posted on 10/9/20 at 9:53 pm to fallguy_1978
Mine just went up 20%. I wonder if he got reassessed as well.

There's no way this is right. Huge scandal if true.
Maybe its on two lots and this is for the lot that is "empty"? Ya'll should look into it.

Ding!
Odd how just about everyone else in EBR got a love note from the Assessor (and an on average 10% increase in assessed value), yet somehow he did not.

Someone needs to expose this guy if this is true.
Posted on 10/10/20 at 8:28 am to GumbOrgeron
He must be getting reports that the effort to defeat St. George will fail.
